OTHER LIVES
“Old Statues” Out in November
Live Dates Announced
Q **** MOJO **** Uncut ****
The Guardian **** The Sun ****
“Bittersweet and exquisitely orchestrated folk-pop” – Uncut
“Sublime, transportive music to spend hours with” – The Guardian
“The next must-have pastoral American sensation” – MOJO
“The most uniquely sublime, meticulous and heroic 40 minutes of 2011.” – BBC Online
With the completion of their successful debut tour of the UK & Europe in August, Other Lives -- the intriguingly atmospheric five-piece from Stillwater, Oklahoma – are pleased to announce further UK dates, including a headlining London show on November 21st at St Giles Church.
These dates will be supported by a new release, “Old Statues”, due in November. Taken from their critically celebrated sophomore album Tamer Animals, “Old Statues” possesses Other Lives’ signature epic sound, but crossed with unexpected echoes of dramatic pop reminiscent of early Walker Brothers and girl group Shangri-Las-style bittersweet yearning:
With four star reviews sweeping MOJO, Uncut, The Sun, The Independent, and The Guardian (and more great press to follow), along with superb sessions and interviews on Radio 1 with Zane Lowe, Radio 2 with Dermot O’Leary, Radio 4’s Loose Ends, and 6Music’s Radcliffe & Maconie, plus excellent online sessions with Line of Best Fit, City Sessions, and Secret Sessions, Other Lives have established a formidable beachhead in the UK.
