Review of Joe Matera E.P. Slave to the fingers

Review of Joe Matera E.P. Slave to the fingers

Listening to this E.P. made me reminisce of the good guitar music of the past. Rich, clean and full of feeling. Joe Matera certainly feels his music and you can tell. Intro itself leading into Slave to the fingers, reminded me of the great Dire Straits. The great long extended chords and nimble picking evident throughout. The same with Cruise Control. Another rich, melodic tune which leaves you feeling warm inside with a 70s groove to boot. This is a faster more intense song though as is Out of the Blue. Both similar in their styles but equally as good.

The final track, Face off, is very country-fied. Clear, crisps notes making you want to head out into the desert on a horse and re-join the heady days of the wild west.

This E.P. has something for all guitar lovers of different genres. Which should appeal to young and old alike. You can pick up your copy here
