The Cult

The Cult announce October UK tour dates 2013

The Cult have announced “ELECTRIC 13”, a worldwide tour that will visit ten UK cities this October.

"The Cult's life blood has always been playing live, we are between albums and decided to continue the momentum created by CHOICE OF WEAPON, stay in people’s hearts and minds. As LOVE LIVE was such an incredible experience we have decided that performing the ELECTRIC album, an event that has been demanded by our fans and followers as the perfect live set to play in 2013.” - Ian Astbury, The Cult

Born out of the ashes of the UK post-punk scene, The Cult evolved to become one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the late 20th century, selling millions of albums, headlining venues worldwide, infusing innovative possibilities into the worlds of music, art and fashion and quickly ascending through the ranks of the indie music world to achieve global status.

In 1987, The Cult released “Electric”, an album of stylistic change that aimed the band straight at the heart of the rock market. Recorded in New York City at the legendary Electric Ladyland studios and filled with the energy of the dirty NYC streets, together with a young producer named Rick Rubin, who resonated more with the hip hop world of The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and Public Enemy; the band delivered an recording that has gone on to become one of The Cult’s most successful and influential albums, and as a follow up to "Love ", kicked the door wide open to a passionate new audience.

“Electric” went on to become the band’s first Platinum album. They quickly captured media attention featuring heavily in music and fashion magazines as well as becoming an MTV staple after dark and where spun heavily on radio coast to coast. Electric was supported by an incident filled world tour with Guns N’ Roses as the opener in North American.  Beginning in January of that year, The Cult headlined in the U.K., Europe, the U.S., Canada, and Australia, opened select dates for Iggy Pop and David Bowie, returning at the end of the year to sell out Wembley Arena and Brixton Academy in London.

The Cult will perform “ELECTRIC”, raw and unfiltered on tour in 2013, an event branded as ELECTRIC 13. This will be a hot ticket as The Cult have never performed the album in its entirety. The live show will also include a second set pulling from the band’s eight other studio albums.

Tickets will be available from 9am on Friday May 17th via www.kililive.com and www.seetickets.com. Phone: 0844 871 8803 and venue box offices.

Madina Lake announce farewell UK tour and E.P.

Madina Lake
Madina Lake has officially announced plans for a final EP and a "Farewell UK Tour".  Tentatively titled "Buena Fortuna", the band is expecting a Fall release to coincide with the tour which kicks off in September.  Front man Nathan Leone says "It's been a majestic run and we couldn't be happier or more grateful for everything we've been able
to accomplish as Madina Lake".  He went on to add "As sad as it is to be closing this chapter, we're much more excited to open the next one".
"Buena Fortuna: marks the bands 5th release in almost 10 years together.  Debut LP, "From Them Through Us to You" introduced an ambitious trilogy concept which continued with 2009's "Attics to Eden" and concluded with 2011's "World War III".  In 2012 Madina Lake released a book that spelled out the underlying storyline binding each record called "Lila the Divine Game".
After almost 5 years on the road, the Chicago based band was forced to hiatus in 2010 when bassist Matthew Leone was nearly beaten to death intervening in a domestic dispute.  "We'd toured relentlessly before Matthew's incident and ever since, we decided to cut back dramatically to ensure his full recovery"
In 2011, guitarist Mateo Camargo briefly left the band for personal reasons but returned for 2012's "Lila the Divine" tour in the UK. "Buena Fortuna" which translates to "good luck" in Italian promises to be an "elegant" finale to the band's tenure and they plan to announce new endeavors shortly.

Simon Townshend UK Tour 2013

Simon Townshend UK Tour 2013

Touring the UK this summer, Simon Townshend is a familiar name, with an original sound. Straight from the lineage of a musical family, Simon is also the brother of The Who legend, Pete Townshend and regularly plays with The Who and numerous other established acts.

Simon has been recording and performing since the age of nine, when he was recruited to add vocals to The Who classic, Tommy. A solo artist in his own right, he has successfully released solo albums as well as one with the band Casbah Club (featuring Bruce Foxton – The Jam and Mark Brzezicki – Big Country).

Last year Simon released his finest and most impactful solo recording to date, ‘Looking Out, Looking In’ and is now set to tour the UK, visiting O2 Academy venues in London, Sheffield, Newcastle and Liverpool.

“'I'm looking forward to getting back out on the road with my amazing band in June to support the release of my next album, ‘Denial’” says Simon Townshend. “This album, of all my work, has the broadest appeal. The songs are inspired and the recording was a breeze. Mark Brzezicki (Big Country, The Cult) features on drums, Phil Spalding (Elton John, Toyah) on bass and Tony Lowe (Julien Clerc) additional electric guitars. There will be limited edition signed vinyl, too. Come out and enjoy some modern rock with a difference.”

British tribute band The Doors Alive are widely regarded as the closest and most enthralling representation of the 1960’s legends The Doors in the world today.

The band re-create the sound, look, presence and magic of a real 1960's Doors concert, perfectly and effortlessly transporting the audience back in time with classic hits such as 'Light My Fire', 'When The Music's Over’, ‘Riders On The Storm’, ‘The End’ and many more. To achieve that authentic Sixties sound, the band use the very same instruments that members of the Doors originally used. Their debut record, ‘Love It When I Feel This’ (2007) clocking in excess of 200,000 sales, featured hits “Either Way” and “Wide Awake”, and their second album, ‘Jewellery Quarter’ (2009) delivered fan favourite, “Barney Rubble”.

"Nights like this just don’t come along that often” says Phil Etheridge. "Being able to watch Cast every night for a few weeks would do me let alone grace the same stage!"

The band spent most of last year in their studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, with the creative hub of Phil Etheridge and Jon Watkin joined by new drummer, Ash Sheehan.
We can’t wait for the tour to start, the fans are in for a great night. It’s a privilege to tour with a band as good as Cast” adds Jon Watkin.

Fellow headliners, Cast, are well and truly back! Last year welcomed a sell-out hometown show at O2 Academy Liverpool in December and the release of the band’s first album in over a decade.

The original line-up of Cast played shows to celebrate the 15th anniversary reissue of their classic ‘All Change’ debut, followed by the release of ‘Troubled Times’ in March 2012, the band’s first album in over a decade. Worked up with original producer John Leckie, ‘Troubled Times’ is an album of consciousness-rousing, acutely melodic and rhythmic rock’n’roll.
John Power’s presence among luminaries such as Ian Brown, John Squire and Mick Jones on the Hillsborough Justice Tour was a welcome reminder of where the man belongs, and of Cast, the band Power formed in 1993 that played its part in the seismic Britpop boom of the mid-‘90s.

"Its gonna be a great tour, cos when you have two headlining acts there's bound to be that little bit more bravado to each performance, I mean if the band before whoever is on first whichever night plays a blinding set, then the bar has already been raised, and you better be ready to match it." John Power

Fresh from a January 2013 tour support with Kendrick Lamar and in the running for MTV’s Brand New (vote Rascals at www.mtv.co.uk/brandnew*), the four-piece from Bow, London have emerged from the underground in a blaze of glory in the world of MCs, R&B and grime, with support coming in thick and fast from, the likes of DJ Target, Mistajam, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Professor Green and Wiley.

Rascals will perform club PAs at O2 Academy club nights in London (Propaganda – 8 March), Glasgow (Jelly Baby – 21 March), Newcastle (Propaganda – 23 March), Leeds (Vodka Nationwide – 6 March), Leicester (Shabang! – 1 March), Bristol (Ramshackle – 15 March) and Birmingham (Propaganda – 29 March) throughout March.

We’ve been following Rascals for some months from their support on the Conor Maynard on tour in 2012, to Kendrick Lamar in January 2013 and seeing them live on the MTV Brand New tour. We’re extremely pleased to announce a Rascals club tour, as we regularly host PAs and had enormous success with Rizzle Kicks last year. "Men Without Hats" announce first European Tour in 20 Years

30 years ago, Men Without Hats told the world “You can dance if you want to.” The world listened. Since then, the Canadian electronic rock new wave group has continued to create iconic and irresistible pop music. In February, they embark on their first European tour in over 20 years, performing all their classic hits including “The Safety Dance”, “I Got The Message”, “Pop Goes The World”, “I Like”, “Living In China”, plus songs from their critically acclaimed new studio album “Love In The Age Of War.”

The European tour starts Friday 1st February at the London’s Islington o2 Academy (only UK show), followed by dates across Germany, Austria, Denmark, and Sweden. Led by front man, lead singer and songwriter Ivan Doroschuk, in 2011, MWH performed a breakout show at SXSW, followed by an extensive 2012 North American tour alongside the B52s and Human League.

Produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson), Love In The Age of War marks MWH’s their first studio album in 10 years, and includes ten original songs.

Since forming in the late 70's, the band has released six studio albums – having songs featured on hit TV series such as Glee, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy.  Their 1980's hit “The Safety Dance” reached Top 10 in the US, the UK and 25 other countries around the world.  In 1983, they picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Group.  If you think you can still “dance if you want to,” then Love In The Age of War will give you 10 more reasons to get started.

Scott Ian of 'Anthrax' announces 'Speaking Words' Tour UK May/ June 2013 Tour

Scott Ian

Scott Ian of 'Anthrax' announces 'Speaking Words' Tour UK May/ June 2013 Tour

Scott Ian will be heading out for a full UK ‘Speaking Words’ tour next May/June 2013. The tour comes in light of his highly successful spoken word evening at The Garage, London in November 2012.

“My first 'Speaking Words' tour and I get to do it in the UK and Ireland? Really? Wow, how f***ing cool is that!!! My one-off show in London went so well and now I get to speak words at you all over the place. Thank you for having a superior sense of humour.

I'm calling it 'Speaking Words' because the pretension of saying I am doing a 'Spoken Word' tour is too much to bear. This ain't no poetry reading. This isn't an evening of sensitive discourse.

It's an evening of ridiculous truth. It's me talking (swearing) about this insane life I've led over the last 31 years, the people I've met and the shit that's happened. And when I'm done swearing, you can ask me anything you want, the floor is yours. Cheers my friends, see you in May and June.”  Scott Ian

In a career spanning three decades, Scott Ian, as the co-founding member of Anthrax, helped to create the “New Wave of American Heavy Metal” or as it’s more commonly known, “Thrash Metal” in the mid-80’s. Scott is widely known as the face of Anthrax, and for being a constant and extremely recognizable figure in the worlds of music, poker, comics, movies and television.

In a rare outing Scott will do a spoken word performance. The show is very entertaining and funny, filled with stories from his 30+ years of travelling around the world. The night concludes with a Q and A where the audience gets to ask Scott what they want to know.

Scott Ian’s ‘Speaking Words’ tour will be sponsored by Metal Hammer magazine.

"Geek, author, guitarist, icon: when it comes to recounting the history of metal, Scott Ian's the man - catch him while you can" Alex Milas – Editor Metal Hammer

The Fratellis announce UK Tour for April 2013

The Fratellis

The Fratellis announce UK Tour for April 2013

The Fratellis are halfway there on recording their comeback album - and they want to reassure fans it’s a return to their roots.
Jon, Baz and Mince have been working on the new record, since they announced their reformation in September, and the album will be out next year. “We’ve not changed in any way that is going to challenge people too much and you can’t really expect people to buy into what you are doing and then completely change it. You do enough to keep them motivated and interested.” Jon Fratelli
The Fratellis formed in March of 2005, and wasted no time in becoming Scotland’s biggest export to the world. In no less than 2 years the Glaswegians had sold over a million copies of the Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air) produced debut album, ‘Costello Music’, in the UK alone.
The peak of their achievements was picking up the Best British Breakthrough Gong at 2007 Brit Awards. An accolade the band is sincerely proud of as it was voted by listeners of BBC Radio 1.

It was a whirlwind 2 years in which they where labelled, ‘The best new band In Britain’ by The NME, and spent 3 weeks at no.2 when the album was first released in September 2006. No less than six months later they where playing a sold out national tour which included 4 nights at the historic O2 Academy Brixton.

Costello Music gave birth to some of the most catchy, sing along anthem’s in recent times, the thunderous Creepin Up The Backstairs, the heartfelt Whistle For The Choir and the epic Chelsea Dagger, a song so grand it’s verve is echoed across every major sporting ground and stadium up and down the country.
