Those That Know featuring Drake - Trust Issues

Those That Know follow up last month's critically acclaimed refix of The Weeknd's 'Loft Music' with a brand new remix and video, featuring their take on Drake's 'Trust Issues'.

Comprised of producer J. Hoskins and rappers / singers Tuuobillion and Saint Kay, Those That Know first formed in 2011 and soon began producing what they describe as "an eclectic mix of electronic influenced Hip-Hop and R&B". Having produced records for a variety of artists, the London / Essex based group found their first taste of success after producing Black Biscuit's 2011 single 'Child of the Street', which was regularly rotated on MTV Base and even received support in the US from esteemed tastemaking website WorldStarHipHop.com. This success was soon followed by 'Blow You Away', a track produced for Pierre Amil which received regular TV rotation from KISS and Channel AKA (who featured the record on their latest annual compilation album) and airplay from 1xtra as part of Ace and Vis' 'Fantastic Four' feature.
In mid-2011 Those That Know went on to expand their brand even further, with the launch of their own exclusive range of t-shirts, sweaters and hats. The current winter collection is available now at www.thosethatknow.bigcartel.com.

Fast forward to 2012, and Those That Know have elected to release a series of four fantastically unique refixes of some of their favourite new music, which starting off last month with a outstandingly popular refix of The Weeknd's 'Loft Music'. This debut release - which clocked up 30,000 views online and received support from both sides of the Atlantic - is swiftly followed by Those That Know's brand new refix of Drake's 'Trust Issues'. Flipping the record in typical TTK fashion, the trio fit Drake's original lyrics to an eerily beautiful musical backdrop whilst adding additional verses of their own. Driven by an operatic vocal line, pulsating bass and flickering hi hats, this latest refix highlights Those That Know's combined talents both in and outside of the vocal booth.

Those That Know currently hold monthly residency at Catch Bar in Shoreditch, playing a mix of Hip-Hop, Post Dubstep, Electronic RnB and some unheard Those That Know material. For more information on the next free night [21/03/12] please click here.

The single 'Heavens Below' is a hollering, crushing, blues-riffing marvel of a tune that is typical of the Wet Nuns. The death-blues two-piece have been creating a storm on the live scene over the last 12 months and we'd love to see if you would be interested in featuring them and announcing the single and remix. Both the track and remix will only be available from the band's website, www.wetnuns.com, from November 11th.

We were so blown away by their last live show at London's Bull & Gate that we actually offered to PR the single for no more than a t-shirt and a beer (although we haven't been paid the beer yet). But it's because we rarely see something this exciting, and we want everyone else to know about it too!

I've attached the press release and band shot here. Please feel free to host the single and remix. The guys are also available for interviews, phoners, etc, so let us know if you would like to do something more in-depth and we'll hook it up.

Below is both a teaser video for the single, and also a recent live video that captures the atmosphere of Wet Nuns live.

“Snarling, sweaty, boisterously hurling expletives at you like great big lumps of molten rock… ridiculously appealing” Clash Music
“What’s a girl like me to expect from a Wet Nuns gig? I saw pictures of Terence crowd surfing on two people...” Toast Magazine

Poly Styrene - "Ghoulish" remixed by Hercules & Love Affair

Future Noise Music will release a single for Poly Styrene’s “Ghoulish” on 7 August.  The single includes a pulsating remix by Hercules and Love Affair and will be available at iTunes and all digital retailers.
‘Ghoulish’ is one of the outstanding results of the torrential creative relationship which sparked between Poly and producer Youth, here hot-wiring New York’s 60s girl group sound with sparkling future-sheen and swooping sonic sheets to produce a new strain of spectacular, 21st century pop music.
In something of a coup, the single comes with a remix from the renowned Hercules & Love Affair, aka Andy Butler, who drapes Poly’s vocals over an exquisite Moroder-meets-acid house super-groove, with cliff-hanger drop and voluptuous peaks. The fact that one of dance music’s most revered names can obviously revel in turning what started as one of Poly’s observations into a post-apocalyptic disco anthem speaks further volumes about the lady who started as the original punk misfit and now rests alongside the all-time greats. Hear it here:
The video for the track , which takes  place at a casting for Michael Jackson impersonators. Watch it here:
Although music lost one of its most uniquely idiosyncratic legends, when Poly Styrene tragically succumbed to cancer in April, she had thankfully finished recording her Generation Indigo album before being diagnosed, giving her take on the 21st century, in similar fashion to her uncannily clairvoyant X-Ray Spex missives of the punk era.
