Emmy the great new single and tour announced

With new album Virtue picking up outstanding reviews, Emmy The Great heralds the start of an extensive UK tour with the release of a new single on September 19th.

Paper Forest (In the Afterglow of Rapture) Emmy explains, was inspired by the finale of a Patti Smith song which talks about being ‘blessed amongst all women’, and a classical quote, learned through Sylvia Plath, that 'character is fate'.  These encapsulated her situation at the time –  a period of security and engagement that she felt disconnected from, and thought that, through the quirks in her character, would self-destruct."

The follow up to her equally critically acclaimed debut First Love, Virtue began as a series of stories Emmy embarked on after the disintegration of her engagement  - her fiancĂ© left her for the church. Drawing on symbols borrowed from fairy tales and mythology, she added the icons that have replaced them in our modern consciousness to create a record that’s made her feel like a person and that she hopes will speak to others who’ve endured and survived.

Following a short tour earlier this year Emmy embarks on a 22-date excursion which includes a show at the London’s historic Cecil Sharp House in Camden.  Tickets are on sale now and available via ticket links listed.
