UK & Ireland Tour Kicks Off 8th September

As the new series and season of X FACTOR is now underway, former X FACTOR finalist and hell raiser JAMIE ‘AFRO’ ARCHER is all set to embark on the next exciting chapter of his career with the launch of new band “ARCHER”

JAMIE AFRO (Lead vocals & guitars) along with band mates ANTHONY REED (Lead Guitar) and brother STEPHEN ARCHER (drums, percussion, backing vocals) will release their debut single “INSANITY” on Monday 3rd October. The boys will also embark upon a tour of the UK and Ireland next month, kicking off on the 8th September at Londonʼs famous Borderline Club, with dates throughout the UK and Ireland in September and with more dates to follow in October

Loved by X Factor audiences for his edgy, authentic performances and rock star appeal, Jamie won over a whole league of fans for his unique and spellbinding audition performance of “Sex On Fire” by KINGS OF LEON and his unforgettable style and trademark “Afro”.
Personally mentored by SIMON COWELL, Jamieʼs performance was viewed by 11 million people, coming 4th in an official poll of the most impressive X FACTOR auditions ever.

Since completing one of the biggest and most successful X FACTOR tours of the UK & Ireland in 2010, alongside his fellow X Factor finalists, Jamie decided to start work on the next chapter of his musical career by launching his own band ARCHER, along with brother Stephen and long time friend Anthony Reed.

Jamie, Stephen and Anthony started work writing and recording tracks for their much anticipated debut album earlier this year. Their style of music and sound has already been compared and likened to that of Muse, U2, The Killers and Robbie Williams.

Having decided to road test the bandʼs new sound, Jamie and the boys have already impressed and wowed fans with electrifying shows, headlining at major events this summer including the Silverstone Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Epsom Royal Derby and T In The Park Festival performing to over 180,000 people.

Commenting on the forthcoming single release and UK dates front man Jamie Afro Archer said:

“I am really excited about getting the band together and finally being out there on the road performing our new material. We have spent the last six months writing and recording which has been an incredible experience. Appearing on X Factor was an amazing experience for me and was always part of the bigger plan for forming my own band by gaining that invaluable TV exposure. The British public following the X Factor were a phenomenal support throughout my time on the show. However there were times on the X Factor where I felt restricted in the songs I could perform and which suited my vocal range and style. With my new band ARCHER, I am really excited to be getting out there and finally performing in the style of music that I feel best suits my character and personality.”
