CHRIS THILE is set to tour the UK and Ireland in September in support of their Nonesuch Records debut, Sleep With One Eye Open, released in May to widespread critical acclaim.  Michael Daves, who was to join Chris on the tour, is now unable to play the shows due to an illness in his family.  Chris will instead play a full solo show each night.

Recorded live to tape over four days at Jack White’s Third Man studio in Nashville, TN, Sleep With One Eye Open is a collection of 16 traditional tunes by bluegrass legends like The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Martin, and Flatt & Scruggs.  As Thile says: “Mandolin and guitar and two male voices - it’s such a good sound. It was important for us was to get that brother duet thing, but with this Lower East Side punk energy.  One of the most enjoyable things about this experience was to underline the slightly delinquent side of bluegrass.”

Chris Thile, who the Washington Post says “may well be the most virtuosic American ever to play the mandolin,” released the first of five solo albums when he was just 13 and, by the time he was 20, he was attracting a following among pop, country, and alternative-rock audiences as a member of the Grammy Award–winning Nickel Creek.  He currently is best known for his Grammy–nominated string band Punch Brothers.  NPR’s Bob Boilen has said “I’ve seen many musicians in my day, but my jaw dropped listening to and watching Thile play... The command he had of his instrument, from frenetically fast strumming to tasty quiet fills, it was just first-rate.”

THE TOY HEARTS are one of the UK's hottest acoustic acts right now, their style of music neatly placing them at the forefront of the resurgence of interest in folk and Americana music.

They have been making music together for over ten years, partly because the core trio of the band is made up of family members, and partly because they are old school when it comes to music. They have honed their skills the hard way by gigging across the UK, USA and Europe, the result being that they deliver an exciting, energetic and dynamic live show, packed with just the right amounts of sweetness, sass and style. Hannah sings lead and plays mandolin, accompanied by her sister Sophia on harmony vocals and lead guitar. The girl’s father Stewart backs them on banjo, dobro and steel guitar, while honorary ‘family’ members complete the line up on double bass and fiddle
