Channel 4 star NxtGen releases new single and video
23 year old hip hop / grime MC NxtGen follows up on a string of viral sensations with his brand new single 'Someone People Like' and mixtape 'F**k It'.
Having first picked up a pen at age 11, Loughborough based NxtGen
first made his name on the underground Drum n Bass scene, performing as
resident MC at a host of events in Leiceser, Liverpool and across the
Midlands. He soon moved on to experimenting with other genres and found a
passion for hip hop and grime music, which now makes up a large portion
of his sound. The charismatic rapper then went on to make waves across
the nation with his now infamous 'Andrew Lansley Rap', a politically
motivated track based on the NHS, which went on to clock up over 500,000
views on YouTube, reach No 8 in the iTunes Hip Hop / Rap charts and garner appearances on Channel 4 News, BBC News, Have I
Got News For You and Russell Howard's Good News, as well as receiving
countless features with the tabloid press. NxtGen
then followed this up with the Channel 4 backed 'Royal Wedding Rap',
which received
airplay during the TV coverage of Kate and William's wedding.
Fast forward to 2012, and NxtGen
is back with a brand new single 'Someone People Like', along with his
official debut long player 'F**ck It'. Having already picked up
incredible national support and critical acclaim with his pop culture
virals, NxtGen's first official releases of 2012
are now set to establish the multi-faceted writer / rapper as a leading
face in the UK urban music scene.
