Saint Motel release debut album 'Voyeur'

Following a steady stream of buzz-laden singles released over the past year, Saint Motel have just released their debut album ‘Voyeur’ – an 11-track testament to the band's penchant for boundary pushing and melodic progression. The album can be streamed in full here.

The album is choc full of slick, infectious Pop gems, and includes elements of “Tropical, Latin, Big Band and Retro” in the words of vocalist AJ Jackson. Mixing raw energy and rousing rhythms, a twist of cynical humor can be found in the surprisingly avant-garde lyrical subject matter.

Jackson admits "while all the songs are based on what many would call 'absurd' subject matter, many of the songs have various levels of subtext that I hope the listener will decipher with repeated listens." And so, what might be easily perceived as sexy with one listen, with another might seem mean-spirited or flatly perverse. That is the flair of Saint Motel's rapturous pop and the graceful dichotomy of its existence.

The band sold out the 800 capacity El Rey theatre in LA for their release show last weekend, a feat practically unheard of for an unsigned act.
