Liverpool’s Antipop Records promises to bring a ‘classic block party style'’ event to Eric’s on Mathew Street on Friday 14 September. Expect lots of bass turned to ten, reverb to the max and some exciting new names such as The Amnesiacs, Jeramiah Ferrari, P’Chenga, Roots To Nowhere together with the The Senator Sound System DJs.

The Amnesiacs return to the stage for a rare hometown appearance.  The Amnesiacs are an exciting Ska/hip hop group from Liverpool. Providing a scintillating rendition of contemporary Ska fused with a modern day twist. Their songs provide a sharp documentary of modern day living, subjects that affect us all in this current climate of social and political uncertainty. They combine their social awareness with humour and irony.

Live they are a formidable force with boundless energy and enthusiasm. Their song Top Yourself was featured in the Kevin Sampson cult film Awaydays, starring Steven Graham and Liam Boyle. Their cover version of The Specials Do The Dog was also released this year on the Specialized album to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. They have had other songs released on the Walt Jabsco label. The Amnesiacs debut album Forget to Remember is currently available on I-Tunes and Spotify. In the past The Amnesiacs have toured and shared stages with Neville Staple, The Beat, Bad Manners, Roddy Radiation, The Slits, The Lambrettas, Public Enemy and The Blockheads.

Jeramiah Ferrari are a 4 piece Reggae band based in Manchester, they fuse Roots Reggae, Rock, Punk,Ska and Calypso. They recently performed at the MEN Arena after winning tonnes of local radio competitions. That day they played to thousands of pop fans. This gig will see them toast the night with their smooth reggae vibes and as always a few surprises in the set. Their debut EP Cactus Killer sold out and they’ve already supported The English Beat, Turin Breaks, The Sunshine Underground and The Aggrolites.

P'Chenga are a Reggae/Ska/Rock band from Liverpool featuring some of the ‘best Sax playing this side of New Orleans,’ they have reggae coming out of their ears. So expect plenty of brass and a northern vibe from  a great party band.

Roots To Nowhere debut in Liverpool and are another discovery from Antipop. The Welsh band play a mixture of punk, ska and reggae which is all original material, the band consist of  Kyle Tomkinson (vocals and rythm guitar), James Tirrell (drums and percussion), Jan Pogonowski (lead guitar and vocals), and Al Hand (bass). “Come and see us if you want to watch a good band who loves what they do, and make sure you bob your head and have a skank “ says singer Kyle.

DJs The Senator Sound System always bring the cool vibes with the deep dub bass sound between and after bands into the night to keep the crowd moving.
