Hawkwind,The Time and Space Machine and The Lucid Dream confirmed for Jodrell Bank show

The multi award winning Live From Jodrell Bank series confirms the support acts for a very special show with The Australian Pink Floyd.  The Australian Pink Floyd will be performing a celebration show to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of the seminal Pink Floyd album, The Dark Side Of The Moon and this spectacular show is a never to be repeated opportunity to catch the ultimate tribute act at the University Of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Observatory.

Hawkwind are a legendary act, formed in 1969, veterans of the first ever Glastonbury and widely acknowledged as creating a brand new genre of music – Space Rock.  The band recorded their trademark single ‘Silver Machine’, which featured Lemmy on vocals in 1972 and reached number 2 on the charts and their legendary Space Ritual tour took place in the same year.  The barrage of light, sound, dance and theatrics has since become a hallmark of all subsequent Hawkwind shows, making each gig a unique and spectacular event, rather than ‘another standard rock concert’.  Jodrell Bank is the ideal setting to see this pioneering act.

When it comes to being a man of many talents, there are few to equal Richard Norris. DJ, producer, musician, AandR man, author and journalist; his is a career of many twists and turns which have always seen him at the forefront of pushing new ideas forward and championing diversity and innovation.  Richard formed seminal dance act The Grid in the 90’s and recently bought psychedelia bang up to date with his Erol Alkan partnership, Beyond The Wizzards Sleeve.

The Time and Space Machine is currently Richard's main project and it has morphed into a live band, featuring Hammond organ, guitars, bass, drums, vocal harmonies and a retina stretching psychedelic light show.  They will be performing tacks from their debut album ‘Set Phazer To Stun’ which made the top 100 of Rough Trade’s Albums Of The Year and their second long player ‘Taste The Lazer’.

The Lucid Dream are a modern psychedelic rock band formed in Carlisle, Cumbria, in 2008 who have gained acclaim from the likes of NME, Q, Frank Skinner (Absolute Radio), Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio) and major support from BBC 6 Music (Nemone 'Record of the Weekend', Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson).   The band have supported Death In Vegas, Spectrum, Crocodiles, Captain Beefheart's' The Magic Band' and The Aliens and are the most exciting act to emerge from the bourgeoning new psychedelic scene.

Australian Pink Floyd is the biggest and most spectacular Pink Floyd show on the planet.  Having sold over 3 million tickets and performed in over 35 countries the show is one of the most in demand touring entities currently operating and incorporates a psychedelic light show modelled on the light shows used by Pink Floyd during their 1987 and 1994 world tours.  The show includes a round screen with intelligent lights arranged around its perimeter. During a concert, movies and animations are displayed on-screen, complementing the band's light show. Inflatables such as the pig used by Pink Floyd during the Division Bell Tour and Skippy - the bands own giant pink kangaroo are frequently employed in the band's shows
A unique element of the Live From Jodrell Bank shows has seen bands beaming their projections onto The University of Manchester's 76 metre Lovell telescope and The Australian Pink Floyd’s spectacular audio visual production can be experienced at its finest in this unique environment.

This live show is so good that they were even engaged by David Gilmour to perform at his 50th birthday celebrations
