A carnival of thrilling entertainment awaits at T in the Park 2013
The countdown to T in the Park’s 20th year celebrations is well and truly on, with just over 4 weeks to go until the weekend of the summer arrives. With a bill crammed with some of the world’s biggest bands and the hottest breakthrough acts around, today festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have revealed details of an amazing array of top festival entertainment on offer over 12th – 14th of July.
The fields of Kinross are set to transform into a carnival of colour and energy with a vintage fairground vibe, with pop-up performances, street theatre, sensational burlesque, performance art, stunning sculptures and thrilling entertainment.
Closing the Transmissions Stage on the Friday night will be Britain's original and best singalong club night, Friday I’m in Love. With a brilliant live band playing classic indie and rock and roll anthems, Friday I’m in Love is a unique clubbing experience which sees revellers sing along to their favourite songs en masse without the pressure of the karaoke spotlight. After building up a firm following in London, Friday I’m in Love recently launched in Glasgow to huge success and is guaranteed to be a big hit on its T in the Park debut.
The ultimate party destination for both campers and day trippers, Sunset Strip is back and bursting with an exotic array of cabaret, comedy, circus, fairground attractions and late night entertainment. Arena by day then campers’ entertainment zone by night, Sunset Strip is home to the Scottish Sun Cabaret Club, Slam Tent and the Lucozade YES Arena with a headphone disco and a roller disco.
Brand new for 2013, Arcadia’s Afterburner is sure to go down an absolute storm on its T in the Park debut. Taking pride of place in the heart of Sunset Strip, this spectacular fire and light pulsating structure will become the place to party late into the night. With its unique fusion of art, music and special effects, the Afterburner is a mind-blowing experience, complete with awesome tunes accompanied by stunning effects.
Harnessing 4 million volts of raw electricity, the legendary Lords of Lightning are charged, primed and ready to dazzle at T in the Park. Bringing their jaw-dropping, hair-raising show to Kinross for the first time, this fully-charged performance features 4 million volts of raw electricity arcing between 2 men’s brains. Unmissable.
The Scottish Sun Cabaret Club will bring a touch of glamour and intrigue to T in the Park’s 20th year celebrations, returning with an even bigger, more outrageous and glitteringly diverse programme of sensational cabaret, spectacular burlesque and hilarious comedy. Crammed with the cream of the cabaret, burlesque, circus and comedy crop and open from the Thursday night exclusively for campers, it will feature sets from internationally renowned, award-winning cabaret acts that have wowed audiences the world over, an impressive array of hilarious stand-up comedians, plus late night circus, burlesque, magic and fire dancers.
Kaleidoscope Fields offers festival-goers a world of escapism and is home to Healthy T, Healing T and the Garden of Delight. Brand new for 2013, the Garden of Delight offers an oasis of tranquillity, with a beautiful seating area plus the spectacular Thirsty GOD – a giant recycled bottle skull sculpture (made from metal, and recycled plastic bottles collected from households in Glasgow).
Also within Kaleidoscope Fields is Healing T - a blissfully chilled haven offering morning Yoga sessions and a range of relaxing treatments including Swedish massages, Indian head massages, Thai foot massages, reiki, reflexology and aromatherapy - perfect for a bit of respite from the full-on festival atmosphere. Healthy T’s global kitchen returns offering quality festival cuisine made from the finest fresh ingredients, with an emphasis on Scottish produce. Culinary delights include healthy grilled ostrich burgers, fresh oysters, Cullen Skink and hot smoked salmon rolls from Loch Fyne (all prepared and served by the people who produce them as they would in their own homes and farmhouses) and wood-fired pizza.
The legendary Disco Shed visits Scotland for the very first time. With decks in the shed, speakers on the roof, and a kitsch allotment of garden games, vibes and visuals, the Disco Shed will bring the beats to Healthy T, with Disco Shed DJs seamlessly spinning everything from funk to punk, hip hop to house, rock and roll to reggae, and drum & bass to dubstep.
All this plus over 200 artists performing on 10 stages over 3 days, in front of 85,000 of the most passionate music fans on the planet per day.
