The Factory Club presents at Eric's..first show confirmed Blancmange

The Factory Club and Eric’s have announced the first in a series of shows together. Early-'80s British synth pop electronic masters Blancmange being the first to play Eric’s on Wednesday 13 November.

Alan Wise, legendary promoter and Tony Wilson's former business partner is bringing the Factory Club to Eric's on Mathew Street, in Liverpool.

“The ethos behind the Factory night at Eric's will be the same as the original club, with similar styles of music and with bands who are the artistic side of indie music and are a little bit different. We'll be bringing many of the bands from the Factory Club to Eric's, people like  Steve Diggle, Peter Hook, Ian Broudie and The Chameleons. The first show we've confirmed is Blancmange who will be playing Eric's on Wednesday 13 November and they'll perform the whole of their debut album Happy Families live for the first time."

Alan started out putting with nights on at Manchester club Rafters before running nights at the Russell Club with Alan Erasmus and Tony Wilson, which quickly became known as the Factory club.  Alan has also managed Nico from the Velvet Underground and John Cooper Clarke.

"I've always loved Eric's. Roger Eagle was a business partner of mine and I can tell you now he would have approved of what Eric's is doing now" says Alan.

The Maiden Aunts of electronic music Blancmange return to the stage this November to perform the whole of their debut album Happy Families live for the first time, with the songs which won popular acclaim three decades ago given a 21st century spin. Specially re-recorded by Blancmange – and rechristened Happy Families, Too.
