Malik and Pettite to release their debut 4-track EP
Talented young upstarts Malik and Pettite, widely tipped as one of Coventry's most exciting up and coming bands, have announced they will be releasing their debut 4-track EP on 7th October 2013.
Ahead of the release, the band have unveiled their first promotional video to opening track ‘No More Love’ which is available to stream on YouTube:

Steve Malik and Loz Pettite (previously known as The Tones) first met in a club in Coventry when they were just 16 and 17, and soon began writing and performing songs together. Since then, the pair have developed song-writing maturity, drawing on a huge range of musical influences, including indie from the last decade, 90s Brit-pop, and 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll to create their own unique and signature sound. Exuding a youthful confidence, Malik and Pettite possess a keen ear for a winning pop melody, which allows them to craft a sound that is all at once both classic and fresh.
The pair have gained valuable live performance experience from club and concert performances, including performances at Coventry’s Godiva Festival and, thrillingly, opening for The Specials at Coventry’s Ricoh Stadium, to a sell-out crowd of around 10,000.
The Specials bassist Horace Panter commented: “It was a tall order to appear in front of 10,000 rabid Specials fans in their home city of Coventry and play a set of un-released songs but the band rose to the challenge. That they can cut it is not in doubt. Talent, fine songwriting and a flair for showmanship - plus youth and good looks. Do they need anything else?”
Malik and Pettite’s debut EP will be released by United Producers Records UP Label as a download only on 7th October and will feature 4 original songs recorded at Rolo Studios, Coventry and produced by the Grammy Award-winning Roger Lomas.
