Shanee Pink Releases new EP Spreading In The Light

Shanee Pink (pronounced Shuh-NEE) has been sharing the spotlight with Mark Noseworthy of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in neo folk duo Pink and Noseworthy. The Laurel Canyon artist is now making her mark as a solo artist with today’s release of her new EP Spreading In The Light on North Street Records. The album, which was co-produced by Shanee and Daniel Wright of Song Preservation Society, alternates between folk and electronic pop, with a clear foray into classic rock as well. It features all members of Song Preservation Society, as well as Mark Noseworthy and Jason Pipkin (Poolside). All tracks were mixed by Mike Edge (Boardwalk) and Shanee’s brother, producer Ran Pink. Spreading In The Light is now streaming on American Songwriter.

Earlier this month, Shanee Pink released the official music video for the album’s title track, a gorgeous piece of art shot and directed by Alfredo Lopez (Boardwalk, Vex Ruffin), complete with underwater scenes. Nev Schulman, creator of the documentary Catfish and its follow up TV series on MTV, co-stars in the video alongside Pink. The video also features cameos by fellow Los Angelinos including Spanish musician Lourdes Hernandez known as Russian Red, musicians Bedouin and Trevor Bahnson (Song Preservation Society), art curator Sharon Zoldan, casting director Rachel Williams, actor Roger Kuch, and Spencer Nikosey, creator and designer of Silverlake’s leather goods brand Killspencer.
