The Growlers and Fat White Family to play The Kazimier Liverpool
We have the greatest pleasure in announcing a matchless double headliner featuring notorious London country/rock/funk/garage (insert what you will here) rockers Fat White Family and Californian psych/garage band The Growlers.
One of only three UK dates with the night’s headliner decided by a coin toss, Brixton six-piece Fat White Family have quickly amassed a reputation for their dazzling, unpredictable live sets.
Recently described by The Guardian as a ‘brilliantly bilious rock'n'roll band’, the group’s NSFW videos and controversy-courting lyrics has led to acclaim and censure in equal measure, leading to the band being one of the most talked about acts at this year’s Liverpool Sound City.
Self-described as ‘beach goth’, Golden State quintet The Growlers have released three albums of surf rock infused garage/psych grooves to an increasing audience in the US and Europe. Contemporaries of garage rock innovators Night Beats and former touring partners with The Black Keys, the quintet are renowned for their expansive live shows.
Logging thousands of miles on the gig circuit, the band have won over new converts at the Austin Psych Fest, Coachella and The Great Escape.
Breathtakingly prolific the group issued their fourth LP Guilded Pleasures and European exclusive EP Not Psych! through FatCat to warm reviews last year, with another album already in the works for 2014.
