The party starts on Thursday night at T in the Park festival 2014

In four weeks’ time, T in the Park will open its gates, and with the countdown now well and truly on, festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have revealed further details of a top line-up of talent set to get the party started for Thursday campers.

With only a limited number of Thursday Camping tickets left, fans should buy quickly to make sure they don’t miss out. This year’s celebrations are shaping up to be the biggest ever, with Friday extending to a full day of performances with the Main Arena opening at 12 noon, and the Saturday party continuing right through to 1am.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Skins, Peep Show or a dirtier, gritty version of Glee, The Midnight Beast have become a TV phenomenon. The comedy music hybrid trio, who have just finished broadcasting their second popular series on E4, have gained over 65 million views on YouTube for their satirical, hip-hop videos, and will host THE MIDNIGHT BEAST Presents A DIRTY WEEKEND in the Scottish Sun Big Top. They’ll be joined by a top line-up including Baby Strange, Saint Raymond (who has been championed by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, and has toured with fellow T in the Park artists Ed Sheeran and Haim) and producer Oliver Heldens (who was just 17 when he was signed by Spinnin’ Records), plus The Midnight Beast will entertain the festival crowd with exclusive video mixes.

Sunset Strip’s brand new outdoor dance area, The Palm Stage, will play host to a top bill of DJ talent, led by house music DJ and producer Lil Louis on Thursday night, with more names to be announced soon. A major part of Chicago’s house lineage, Lil Louis released one of the first records on pioneering label Dance Mania before scoring a chart-topper with French Kiss. The DJ/producer recently added directing duties to his resumé with Chicago house documentary The House That Chicago Built, which features more than 180 interviews shot over a seven year period, as he attempts to tell the definitive story of Chicago house.

They join a previously announced Thursday night line-up which also features Sub Club residents Harri and Domenic, DJ and High Sheen co-founder Ben Martin and Wardy of La Cheetah Club, house, techno and hip hop production duo Mia Dora, Drums of Death (who’s remixed for Azealia Banks, Franz Ferdinand and Hot Chip), plus tunes from Glasgow imprint Dixon Avenue Basement Jams.

Organisers have today announced that hotly tipped Swedish producer/singer Elliphant has joined the T in the Park bill. Sounding like a cross between MIA and Diplo, she boasts sizzling MC skills and some serious lyrical prowess and brings her fierce beats to Balado.

T in the Park 2014 takes place from 11th - 13th July, with the campsite opening for Thursday campers on 10th July. Tickets are on sale now, and available from www.tinthepark.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 08444 999 990.
