Africa Oye announce HAJAmadagascar's debut UK tour

Following their acclaimed performance at the Africa Oyé festival this summer, Oyé Touring and Trading are very excited to announce the first ever UK tour for HAJAmadagascar and The Groovy People.

HAJA and his band, who all hail from the African island of Madagascar, will be traveling across England and Wales this November to bring their unique Afro-Trance grooves to brand new audiences.

"Virtuosic guitar playing...intricate and graceful...the crowd was really into the music" - CJLO 1690 AM

The charismatic guitarist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, bandleader and showman, HAJA, cannot wait to return to the UK following his summer appearance at Oyé and is also looking forward to once again visiting schools during the tour to hold educational workshops with students of all ages. Everyone who sees him and his band, The Groovy People, will be joyed by the sounds of his country as well as take away some new-found knowledge of the Malagasy culture.

Our music reflects our being”, HAJA says. “We love our traditions, but we live in big cities at the same time. Tradition and modernity can live well together. Afro-grooves are endless.”

Paul Duhaney, Artistic Director of Africa Oyé said, "We are delighted to be touring one of the standout acts from lasts year's festival."
