To coincide with International STAND UP to Bullying Day on Friday 27th February 2015, Liverpool band Matchstickmen are releasing their brand new single, ‘For No Reason' via MainLine Records/Code 7 Distribution.

International STAND UP to Bullying Day takes place across schools, workplaces, and organizations in 25 countries across the globe. A percentage of the proceeds from ‘For No Reason’ are being donated to The Cybersmile Foundation, a multi award-winning anti-cyberbullying non-profit organization committed to tackling all forms of online bullying and hate campaigns. Founded in 2010 by the parents of children directly affected by cyberbullying, Cybersmile has grown to become the world leading resource in combatting cyberbullying.

Lewis Wright, Matchstickmen’s lead vocalist and main lyricist, spoke about how he was personally affected by cyberbullying: “The subject matter of ‘For No Reason’ is about someone close to me being bullied and not being able to escape it because of the rise of social media and cyber-bullying. We wanted to bring the issue to people’s attention because it seems so much harder for kids now to when we were growing up.” He added “We are so pleased to be working with The Cybersmile Foundation as they are committed to helping everyone realise their true potential by supporting those that are bullied online. Each person that buys the new single joins them in helping prepare this and future generations for a safe and positive digital future.”

‘For No Reason’ is the first single from the bands upcoming second album – ‘From Our Own Ashes.’ The album has been recorded at Castle Rock Studios; a brand new facility-encompassing Recording and Rehearsal studios set in a 2-acre location close to Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Matchstickmen will be performing a headline show at The KrazyHouse nightclub in Liverpool on the day of release to launch the new single. Limited FREE* passes are available NOW for the event from Matchstickmen’s website store: http://www.matchstickmen-band.com

‘For No Reason’ from Matchstickmen will be available to buy from a variety of digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon, available for pre-order at the end of January 2015.

The Cybersmile Foundation support services are available to help enable victims and their families to regain control of their lives.
