Britpop band Republica Announce Show at Under the Bridge
Famed for their huge smash hit singles ‘Ready To Go’ and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’, punk-rock trio Republica were one of the most popular UK acts of the ‘90s. Between 1996 and 1999, the band successfully rode the Britpop wave of female-fronted rock bands that included the likes of Sleeper, Elastica, Garbage and Lush, injecting it with their self-dubbed “techno-pop, punk rock” sound and selling three million albums and topping singles charts across the globe in the process.
Fiery lead singer Saffron has collaborated with a host of the world’s biggest music acts including The Prodigy, who used her vocals on their critically-acclaimed album ‘Fat of the Land’, The Cure, Gary Numan, Jeff Beck, DJ Carl Cox, Jah Wobble, St Etienne and The Shamen amongst many others.
Having made a triumphant return in 2013 with the release of an EP and a sold-out UK tour, the band are now preparing to return to London to perform new music alongside some of their best-known hits at 550-capacity Under the Bridge on Friday May 29th 2015.
Tickets cost £16 and are available from www.underthebridge.co.uk.
