James Holden LIVE at The Kazimier 2015
One of the most revered electronic musicians to have emerged from the UK over the past decade, James Holden visits Liverpool as part of his first ever live tour of the UK, one of only six dates.
Coming to widespread attention as a highly in-demand remixer, Holden’s debut album The Idiots Are Winning (2006) won praise across the board with The Guardian hailing the LP ‘the most astonishing debut in electronic music since Boards of Canada's Music Has the Right to Children’.
Founder and label boss of Border Community, home to acclaimed electronica artist Nathan Fake, Holden’s most recent release The Inheritors (2013) won universal critical applause, with dance bible Mixmag describing the LP as ‘an extraordinary, unique record from one of electronic music’s most vivid minds’.
Originally a studio-bound project Holden was inspired to move into live work following an invitation from Thom Yorke to support Atoms For Peace on their 2013 North American tour, with a series of UK festival dates and one-off events across Europe swiftly following.
Bringing The Inheritors to life onstage via a portable modular set-up and live synths, Holden is joined by jazz drummer Tom Page to create an improvised reimagining of the LP, the pair’s telepathic rapport honed sharp by scores of live shows across the world.
