Virtuoso guitarist, independent musician and viral success story Jon Gomm is happy to announce an extensive UK headline tour for March 2015 with a view to road-testing brand new material and giving recent converts the chance to experience a live performance of tracks from his latest album, the beautiful and critically acclaimed Secrets Nobody Keeps. The run of dates will be the first extensive UK tour since his mammoth 28 date sell-out headline tour in October 2013 (full dates below).

"Since the last UK tour I've been gigging Secrets Nobody Keeps on various continents (Africa and South America being my newest conquests) and played so many European festivals I lost count, including some big ones like Download and Electric Picnic” comments Jon on his hectic schedule throughout 2014 “My next plan was that I wanted to make sure my new post-Passionflower online audience got to hear my old tunes, so I gathered up my most requested songs, and I've filmed a new series of live-in-the-studio videos I'm calling Live In The Acoustic Asylum sessions, which I'm drip-feed releasing throughout 2015. I also have a few brand new songs I'm pretty excited about, which I'll be testing out on this tour."

Jon Gomm Announces New UK Tour 2014 Dates

Singer-songwriter and youtube guitar hero Jon Gomm is taking a break from his international touring commitments to play a few intimate shows around the British Isles. 

He released his latest album Secrets Nobody Keeps last year, with songs described as "masterpieces inflected with tribal rhythms, pop melodic sense and Gomm’s flowing, draped over vocals that would surely make even Eric Clapton blush." Since the release he's been busy traversing the globe, with tours having taken in Africa, China, South America as well as Europe. 

But Gomm is delighted to have a bit of time to reconnect with the audiences he knows best. "Music is communication, and that's easiest when you speak the same language as the people you're performing to," he admits. "My lyrics are really personal, and I try to put that across overseas but it will be really nice to not have to work so hard in that way." 

Jon will be playing songs from Secrets Nobody Keeps, which includes the song Passionflower which has been watched 6 million times on youtube, and which was tweeted to fame in the UK by Stephen Fry, who is among other celebrity fans including Rod Stewart and Chaka Khan.

The record is a thrilling and evocative collection of music without boundaries, an attribute which Jon is keen to emphasise came from the lack of record label involvement, with fan funding giving him complete creative control. Across 10 tracks the album captures the thrilling live energy that comes from his unique combination of haunting, angelic vocals and exquisitely complex and rhythmic finger-style guitar playing. The music is entirely created with Jon's acoustic guitar affectionately known as Wilma, with no other bass, percussion, loops or overdubs used to produce the unique sound of this album.

Stand-out tracks include an instrumental tune called ‘Wukan Motorcycle Kid’ written especially for, and debuted in, Beijing on Jon’s recent China tour:

“Every night in China I would explain to the audience about the Wukan Uprising of 2011 (when a little town rebelled against the state) and about this brave kid I saw on TV who was riding his scooter around the streets at night, hunting for secret police so he could warn the locals” explains Gomm “It was never reported on Chinese media, so it was kind of awe inspiring to use music to convey such powerful information. Luckily I still got out of the country OK!”

Towards the end of 2012, Gomm found himself on the road constantly, hopping from continent to continent, living in an electrified state of new discoveries and coping with the trappings of fame. A constant theme on the album portrays him struggling with bouts of insomnia and feeling like he was losing his grip on reality. Having battled anxiety and depression himself, one song in particular on the album, ‘There’s No Need To Be Afraid’, is dedicated to anyone else who’s been there too.

“I just hit a wall - I was physically and emotionally exhausted. The last 6 weeks of touring were so hard. Hopefully the good that came out of that is the music I was able to find there. Hopefully there’s a communicative force in amongst the catharsis.”

Jon Gomm launches Pledge Album Campaign

Virtuoso guitarist Jon Gomm is pleased to announce today that he has launched the Pledge Campaign for his new album Secrets Nobody Keeps, which is already fully written ahead of his extensive UK headline tour in September.

New are songs inspired by his travels and his brain-scrambling experiences over the past year-and-a-half as he shot to fame with his video for Passionflower that went viral after a simple one word Tweet from Mr. Stephen Fry and now has nearly 5 million views.

Guitar Virtuoso Jon Gomm Seeks Musicians To Open UK Tour Dates

After 2 years touring all over the planet, viral sensation and guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm is hitting the road on home soil with his first major solo UK tour this Autumn, playing the Youtube hits that first brought him fame and premiering songs from his forthcoming album Secrets Nobody Keeps.

Jon is pleased to announce that if you are a band or solo artist, you can now apply to play the opening set at one of the upcoming dates. Gomm well remembers the pain of applying for support slots in his hometown, only to find it was already taken by a touring support artist, often on the same label or agency roster as the headliners. Where possible, Jon wants to give the chance to local musicians.

How To Apply :

1) Go to the facebook event for the one gig nearest you (listed at http://bit.ly/GomUK )
2) Please post a direct link to video or audio of your music (e.g. Youtube, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp) as a post on this event page.
3) Jon will personally select a shortlist of bands.
4) We'll invite the guests of the facebook event to vote for who they'd like to see.

The final choice for support artist will then be made by Jon in conjunction with the concert venue/promoter, and will be subject to terms and conditions set out by the venue/promoter. For a few gigs, support artists have already been chosen (for special reasons).

Leeds based singer songwriter, guitar virtuoso and Youtube viral sensationJon Gomm is today pleased to announce a mammoth twenty nine date solo headline UK tour for September and October 2013. Following a meteoric rise to fame last year after receiving support from a certain Mr Stephen Fry on Twitter, Jon Gomm’s story is the modern embodiment of a musical, metaphorical, rags-to-riches tale that has captivated the imagination of millions of listeners.

After touring the world on the back of the success of his Passionflower video, which now stands at just over 4,249,000 views and counting, Jon is pleased to be able to return to the UK to give something back to the fans that gave his very unique take on acoustic music a voice right from the start, as well as showcase brand new material from his forthcoming album Secrets Nobody Keeps (release date TBC) that will be fan funded via a PledgeMusiccampaign.
