Faith No More Announced As Final Open'er 2014 Headliner

Faith No More Final Headliner Open'er 2014

Faith No More Final Headliner Open'er 2014

Finally the last headliner for Open’er Festival 2014 is announced! The last of them is the legendary Faith No More who play Open’er just hours after Mike Patton and co. perform at London's Hyde Park by special invitation from Black Sabbath.

"Faith No More vs. rest of the world"; "Faith No More beats all the competition" - these were the reviews of FNM's previous concert at Open'er festival. In the summer of 2009, Gdynia was one of the stops of the world tour of the then-reactivated band, and the group's performance on Main Stage made history.  Today those who saw that show still remember Patton going on stage with his cane, a dance routine with an umbrella, the red heavy curtain that was the backdrop for the band, and most of all, a totally perfect setlist packed with hits.

Although their latest studio release dates back to 1997, Faith No More are still listed among the most influential rock bands in the world. They formed in 1981 in San Francisco, but the major breakthrough for the group was when they recruited singer Mike Patton and released "The Real Thing" 25 years ago.  Still a seminal album – still a seminal band.

Roxanne de Bastion to release her debut album The Real Thing April 19th

Roxanne de Bastion announces that her debut album “The Real Thing” will be released on April 19th on Nomad Songs along with single 'Some Kind of Creature' on April 8th.

The Singer / Songwriter teamed up with producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes / Regina Spektor) to record ten of her songs in Roxanne’s town of birth, Berlin. Her first single “Red and White Blood Cells” is available as a free download and has already been picked up by Tom Robinson on BBC6, John Kennedy on XFM, Q Radio as well as MTV and Radio Eins in Germany .

Roxanne’s journey started when she set out on her own, leaving Berlin for London, equipped only with her guitar and a one-way ticket. She grew up in a bilingual, musical home and played her first gigs at the age of 10 (performing her favourite Beatles songs in small cafés and clubs) and began writing her own songs at the age of 15.  Not knowing anyone in London, Roxanne started playing at as many open mic nights, bars and music venues as she could, traveling throughout the country via bus and train in order to play her songs to as many people as possible. Determination and hard work is paying off and Roxanne now tours regularly, being asked back to venues throughout the UK, Germany and the United States. Her music is striking a chord with listeners across the globe from Berlin, to London and New York, all the way to Vietnam and Ethiopia.

Roxanne’s compositions and live shows are incredibly varied in dynamism and style, ranging from intimate, lilting anti-folk to raw 60’s blues-rock. What tie them together are her charm, her instantly recognisable voice and the sincere, witty and downright ballsy lyrics. Her recordings on “The Real Thing” are live, honest and immediate. Her songwriting is influenced just as much by her travels as it is by her musical heroes John Lennon, Ray Davies, Bob Dylan, and Judee Sill. A young person making modern and original music but recorded old school, makes for a fresh sound in an otherwise overproduced universe of ‘same old’.
