The Cosmic Jam for the Bees may sound like something from a Frank Zappa album but this charity night at the Revolution bar in the Cavern Quarter of Liverpool was for a serious cause. The decline in bees over the past decade has resulted in less and less pollination due to the bee’s being eradicated slowly but surely from pesticides, humans and other insects encroaching on their territory and without the bee’s we may as well say goodnight sweetheart. The event was the brain child of Jack Keating and Lee Harris from the band The Rioters who were also lending their talents to the night which boasted singers, guitar players and local bands all raising money for a good cause, and with the revolution bar doubling anything that was made on the night I’m sure the money raised will go a long way towards building some more hives and saving our friendly, striped friends and hopefully keep the cycle of food going for years to come.
