Kendal Calling have joined forces with Liverpool Sound City for an extra special show, combining their booking skills to unearth some of the best new talent on the music scene at the moment. With their ever growing ear for talent Kendal Calling strive to support and provide a platform for regional talent and they are rapidly becoming renowned for their ingenious ability to cherry pick new, up-and-coming acts. This special gig is to be housed in one of Liverpool’s leading venues, The Shipping Forecast. The lucky acts to have been picked from the thousands that applied are; the three and four part ethereal harmonizing of Cloud Control, the poetic and nihilistic sounds of Our Mountain, Liverpool based electro-pop Picturebook and Welsh pysch-rockers The Keys.
Kendal Calling (29th – 31st July) is an award-winning, innovative, independent festival based in the Lake District. It features pioneering contemporary music and art alongside traditional rural entertainment. Possibly the most fun you can have in the countryside, with fields full of activities and attractions for everyone from families to stag parties! The capacity is small and intimate so you won’t be herded around like cattle or spend hours in queues at the bar. Feel the freedom of being able to move between the 8 performance stages in a matter of minutes and never miss an artist.
Liverpool Sound City (19th – 21st May 2011) www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk is the largest music festival and industry conference in the North of the UK.
