Musicosity festival comes to Bournemouth this September


The South Coast will host a new live music festival this September when the Musicosity Festival Bournemouth makes it debut. The first of its kind in the town, the festival will take place at multiple venues, including O2 Academy Bournemouth and The Old Fire Station, over the first weekend of the month (Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th September). The event will kick start the live touring season and give thousands of music lovers, residents and visitors to the area the chance to discover more live music.

With over 50 acts playing at various venues across 3 days; Musicosity Festival will showcase established artists alongside new and emerging talent, and offers opportunities for up and coming musicians from across the region.

Saturday night (3rd September) sees a headline set from mighty surf rockers REEF at O2 Academy Bournemouth. After selling out dates across the UK in 2010, REEF look set to rock Bournemouth to its core and this show promises to be a highlight of the weekend when the band bring the Musicosity Festival to a climax. Other artists confirmed to appear over the weekend include Not Advised, ThePeteBox, Checking Pulse, Friends Electric, We Start Partys, Hero, Amy Can Flyy, Streebeck, Death of an Artist, Benjamin Francis Leftwich plus many more to be announced.

Musicosity's Daryl Bradbury said, "These festivals are an opportunity to check out the newest bands around, as well helping new artists find their audience. We've been inundated with acts wanting to perform, and we hope to work with as many of them as possible".

Alongside the main shows there will be numerous impromptu performances, outdoor stages and after-show parties, all adding to the festivities across the town.
