The Colour Movement Release ‘Future Man’ Single inspired By Sky 1’s Gadget Geeks Songwriting Machine
On 19 March 2012 Sky1 viewers can see the Geeks r’n’d department build a songwriting machine for London / Cambridge based The Colour Movement. The machine produces chord progressions and lyrics at the touch of a button which are then worked on by guitar player Piers Mortimer adding chorus lyrics, drums and tweaking the chords to fit their already established sound and produce a song that’s already won the thumbs up from XFM’s Breakfast Show presenter Danny Wallace.
The result is ‘Future Man’, an anthemic electro tinged rock track with the perfect level of pop sheen for it to find it’s way onto playlists and festival stages this summer. Lyrically and sonically the track points to the future whilst drawing on the influences of some of the best songs of the last decade thanks to the bands almost encyclopedic range of influences and Leo’s instantly recognisable vocals.
Having spent most of 2009 on the road including taking to the stage at Download festival and a stint in LA mixing, the band changed their name from Caimbo to The Colour Movement in 2010. Touring the UK and Festivals once again before self releasing two EP’s and concentrating on shows in London they have fast became favourites in the Camden hotspots and across some of the city’s more exclusive clubs including Bungalow 8, Mahiki and the Kensington Roof Gardens.
The Colour Movement are currently available for interview / live sessions and are also available for Radio / TV interview with the Gadget Geeks on the subject of the Song Writing Machine.
