Films of Colour celebrate new single 'Running' at SXSW 2012
RUNNING//CREATURE OF HABIT
Release date: 16th April 2012
On 16th April, Films of Colour release their next single, Running//Creature of Habit, marking their first time collaboration with producer YILA. Both tracks were recorded at London’s The Fish Factory studios and saw the band creating an even more spacious sound. The song follows previous releases Actions and Capital/Persinette that both achieved significant radio and media support from 6 Music, XFM and Los Angeles station KCSN’s new music show Passport Approved. Their more recent cover of David Bowie’s Slow Burn picked up extensive national airplay and won huge critical acclaim internationally (including an endorsement from Bowie himself!) landing them at the top of many tip lists for 2012.
This is a more brooding sound for Films of Colour, themed around the paranoid side of relationships. It’s an emotion that hits everyone at some stage. Lead singer Andy’s introspective plea in the chorus ‘You can stop my heart or keep it running’ is met with an anthemic chant from the rest of the band. 'Running' swells from it's subtle start to it's big finish.
Currently in the studio tracking new songs for their debut album due later this year, Films of Colour can be seen at the following dates on their return from SXSW with more Festivals to be announced over the coming months.
