Beard Of Wolves release free download
Beard Of Wolves aren’t ones to hang around. Since forming in September this year, the two-piece from North Wales have already appeared at SWN festival, supported upcoming bands such as DZ Deathrays, Milk Maid, Exit International, Castrolova, and picked up early BBC Radio 1 airplay.
Not that any of that will come as a surprise to those who knew the duo in their previous incarnation, I Am Austin. A band who in two short years performed at the likes of Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Snowbombing Festival in Austria, made a live national television appearance on Channel 4, and won fans that included Edith Bowman, Huw Stephens and Bethyn Elfyn.
Beard Of Wolves is a clean slate for the duo of Adam Hughes and David Mitchell though, and one that the band have taken to with relish.
"We wanted BOW to be fun to play live before anything else. If people can see you're into it, they'll more inclined to take notice of you. And that's what we want. We want people to take notice, we want people to watch us play live, lots of them"
‘My Father Drives The Death Star’ is the first taste of the refreshed sound of the band, a glorious track that mixes strong melody and over-laid synth hooks with violent, howling turns. That would be the Wolves then…
Just released as a free download, the new track is an exciting teaser for next year’s single ‘Wet Mouth’, being released by the Too Pure singles club on limited 7” vinyl on January 21st, and then swiftly followed by Beard Of Wolves self-titled EP on March 1st 2013.
