Young Funk Club - You Am Music
Hustle! Records are pleased to share with you their third release and the debut single from Young Funk Club. ‘You Am Music’ is a scintillating slice of lo-fi electro-disco which blends a mean bassline with ethereal electric piano and plenty of sonic bleeps.The song also features a beautiful vocal from Hayley T, chanteuse with label-mates The Bluebeat Arkestra. It was recorded in a spare room using equipment either old, borrowed or gifted by drunk friends.
The engrossing video for the song was devised with the same ethos, being filmed on a mobile phone from a car and several buses in and around Birmingham. All in all this video cost £3.90 (the cost of a Daysaver) to make. Click on the image below to view the video in a new tab.
Having not only written, recorded and mixed the song but also filmed and edited the video; Young Funk Club is a wholly DIY operation on a budget of zero.
