Revere Announce the Release of New Album 'My Mirror/Your Target
REVERE are releasing their second album My Mirror/Your Target on 5th May via Albino Records/V2.
My Mirror/Your Target follows the band’s critically acclaimed debut Hey!, Selim (2010) and includes collaborations from Ben Christophers (Bat For Lashes/ Imogen Heap/Ben Christophers) and Grammy-winning songwriter Emily Barker performing on the album track Landlock'd alongside artists Gabby Young and Jess Bryant. Musically multi-instrumentalists REVERE blend a backbone of guitar, drums and bass with violin, cello and piano. My Mirror/Your Target takes a more energetic, new-wave approach to its predecessor and incorporates colliery-style brass sections, layers of fractured vocal samples and distorted keyboards .
The sound is grittier, more frantic, even at times industrial - influenced by bands such as Joy Division, Magazine and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - while possessing all the majestic grandeur and euphoria at the heart of REVERE’s sound.
Since the release of Hey! Selim, REVERE have released three singles These Halcyon Days , I Won’t Blame You and Keep This Channel Open which collectively won them radio plays from Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins (BBC 6 Music), with Dermot O’Leary invited them in to record an extended session for his BBC Radio 2 show. REVERE also added a coveted Glastonbury set to their list of festival appearances including Green Man, Standon Calling, The Great Escape, Latitude, Field Day, Liverpool Sound City and Camden Crawl. REVERE have also embarked on several UK-wide tours and headlining shows in hometown London venues including 100 Club, Union Chapel, The Lexington and most recently their sold-out Dingwalls show.
REVERE’s My Mirror/Your Target is released on Albino Recordings/V2 on 5th May (with the digital version being available to download from 28th April) .
