‘Dirty Love (Your Love)’ is the 2nd release from hotly tipped NW London songstress Basheba. The follow up to the critically acclaimed debut single ‘No More’ which received support from MTV Base, 1Xtra and SBTV amongst others. Both tracks are produced by Dean Barratt who’s credits span the great and good of the bass/DnB world, including mixing major tracks for DJ Fresh, Shy FX, Jakwob, Dismantle and Breakage. Shy FX say ‘he's the super duper engineer’. The track also features the vocal talents of Jordan Reece the two are old school friends.
Basheba has been perfecting her sound since the age of 14, combining blues and gospel influenced vocals with hard edged drum and bass beats, so it’s no wonder that the likes of Rudimental and Lyracis have already asked to work with her on their album projects. ‘No More’ and ‘Dirty Love (Your Love)’ are part of her debut EP which is planned for release later this year.
Describing her evocative narrative approach to song writing, Basheba says... "A song is nothing without a story. I'm a storyteller, I just tell my stories through song." This storytelling inspired the artistic photographer Linda Blacker to work closely with Basheba to create a series of images that have grabbed the attention of both music and fashion press alike. Watch out also for Basheba’s own clothing brand in 2014.
‘Dirty Love (Your Love)’ will be available to download on iTunes on June 8th
