The Jayhawks at The Kazimier Liverpool this July
Reuniting their classic late 1990s-early 2000s line-up, we have the utmost pleasure of welcoming cult Americana/alt country band The Jayhawks to Merseyside this coming July.
Inspired by Big Star and Neil Young, the group emerged from the fertile Twin Cities music scene in the mid 1980s and went on to release a string of critically acclaimed albums which saw the band placed alongside luminaries such as R.E.M.
The group’s most recent album Mockingbird Time (2011) issued following an eight year hiatus continued the run of critical appreciation with Rolling Stone, Mojo, Spin and Uncut all awarding LP considerable praise.
With the band’s trio of classic albums Sound of Lies (1997), Smile (2000) and Rainy Day Music (2003) helmed by legendary producers Bob Ezrin and Rick Rubin set for reissue this summer, the band’s show at The Kazimier will be welcomed by longstanding fans and new converts alike.
