The Phantom Band to play The Kazimier Liverpool
Returning with their first new album in four years, cult Glaswegian six piece The Phantom Band return to Liverpool , 3 years after putting in a memorable show at a sold out gig at The Blucoat on School Lane.
The new album, Strange Friend, has scored 8/10 ratings from NME and Clash, with Uncut praising the group as ‘one of Britain's most inventive bands’ in a celebratory review.
Suffusing Krautrock rhythms with folk instrumentation and pop melodies the Glasgow band are signed to legendary Scottish indie label Chemikal Underground, home to Mogwai and Loch Lomond. The second set of UK gigs the group are undertaking this year, their live return on home soil in June at the Glasgow School of Art received a four star review from The Guardian.
