Ibiza Rocks

Ibiza Rocks 2013 announce Chic Feat. Nile Rodgers,Biffy Clyro,Beady Eye and more

In less than one month Jake Bugg will kick off another phenomenal summer of live gigs under the stars at the Rocks Hotels.  The countdown is on, the poolside stage is in place and the best bill in the Balearics is complete. Bonifide festival favourites Biffy Clyro, Beady Eye, The Courteeners, AlunaGeorge and Professor Green will play headline shows and Rocks will also welcome a living legend to the White Isle when Chic featuring Nile Rodgers bring disco fever to Ibiza.

As well as huge festival headliners, global selling artists and music icons, Rocks proudly presents a platform for the best breaking talent. Findlay, Amplify Dot, London Grammar and Temples join previously announced supports Palma Violets, The Other Tribe, Jagwar Ma and Redlight to showcase the best in new music.

This year, Ibiza Rocks will celebrate it’s eighth birthday whilst Mallorca Rocks turns three and what better band to bring in for the best parties in the Balearics than Beady Eye, with Liam Gallagher - icon to the Rocks generation - swaggering centre stage and debuting tracks from their hugely anticipated second album BE. Part of the Rocks family and master of new music Zane Lowe will also play, with support coming from Temples to complete a stellar birthday bill.

It’s a Rocks debut for Beady Eye but festival giants Biffy Clyro are responsible for some standout Rocks shows, having played the opening party in 2010 and headlining the 6th birthday party in 2011. The boys and are back, bigger than ever, to rock Mallorca and Ibiza to their core once more in July.

Back by popular demand is fans favourite Professor Green who will also return with new material for massive shows in both resorts in July and is clearly happy about it, saying, “Very, very excited to be back at Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks, can't wait to perform some of the new album! Let's f@ckin' 'ave it!”

In August, it’s a Rocks debut for AlunaGeorge who have exploded onto the scene and featured on one of the biggest tracks of the year ‘White Noise’ with Disclosure. Nominated for the BRITs Critics Choice Award and BBC’s Sound of 2013 and with debut album ‘Body Music’ out in July, this will be one seriously hot summer set.

September will see a music legend at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel as Chic feat. Nile Rodgers perform huge hit after hit, live under the stars. From Madness, to The Specials to New Order, every year Rocks books a band that have shaped the music scene and influenced generations after them.  Nile Rodgers is one of the most influential producers of all time, forming CHIC in the 70’s with tracks such as ‘Le Freak,’ ‘I Want Your Love,’ ‘Everybody Dance’ and ‘Good Times’ propelling disco back in the day and still dance classics now. From CHIC’s own hits to Rodgers producing massive tracks like ‘We Are Family’ and ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer’ for Sister Sledge, ‘Upside Down’ and ‘I'm Coming Out’ for Diana Ross, producing David Bowie's biggest selling album ‘Let's Dance’ and Madonna's blockbuster album ‘Like a Virgin’ – Nile Rodgers is ‘The Hitmaker’.  Add to that working with Jeff Beck, The Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, and most recently Daft Punk, giving them their biggest hit to date with No.1 single ‘Get Lucky’ – the soundtrack of the summer.  The Ibiza Rocks crowd will certainly get lucky in September as a true dance music pioneer takes centre stage.

Whilst Foals head up the Ibiza Rocks Closing Party, it’s Manchester lads The Courteeners that will take to the stage for this coveted Closing Party slot at Mallorca Rocks Hotel in September (17/09).

Shane Murray, Promoter said: “We’re incredibly proud of this year's line up, the mix feels just right. I don't think you will see Biffy Clyro or Foals doing anything as intimate as our Rocks shows this year. Bringing two genuine music icons in Liam Gallagher with Beady Eye and Nile Rodgers with Chic to perform will be big highlights. Liam is an icon of the Rocks generation and Nile has inspired and influenced music beyond recognition – especially in Ibiza. At the same time brilliant new talent like Jake Bugg and AlunaGeorge are coming through as headliners. It’s an exciting time. We’re in for another brilliant summer in the Balearics”

MTV UK will be the exclusive TV host, bringing millions of people closer to the action when it broadcasts the live footage on MTV Music and MTV Live HD.

Texas, Logic, AlunaGeorge and more added to T in the Park 2013 Line up

T in the Park 2013

Texas, Logic, AlunaGeorge and more added to T in the Park 2013 Line up

Iconic Scottish group Texas plus hot new acts Logic, AlunaGeorge, Laura Mvula, Deap Vally, Jagwar Ma, Ruen Brothers, MS MR, Brooke Candy and Josephine are set to perform T in the Park’s 20th year celebrations over 12th – 14th July, after festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager added yet more must see artists to the bill today.

Texas played T in the Park’s Balado debut back in 1997 – the same year their massive number 1 hit album White on Blonde catapulted them to global success. They returned to headline in 2001, and are set to play a huge homecoming show at the festival’s 20th year celebrations. After a 6 year hiatus, they release a brand new studio album entitled The Conversation on 20th May, and will showcase their long-awaited new material as well as treating fans to massive anthems such as I Don't Want a Lover, Say What You Want, Black Eyed Boy and Halo when they return to T in the Park in July.

Maryland rapper Logic’s recent rise through the industry has seen him snag a 2013 Freshman spot in hip-hop bible XXL Magazine, sign to Def Jam and work with No I.D. (the veteran producer and now A&R figure who helped mold the careers of Common and Kanye West). He makes his T in the Park debut this July.

AlunaGeorge are being tipped for big things this year, after they enjoyed huge success with their track Attracting Flies. They featured 2nd in the BBC’s Sound of 2013 list (after fellow T in the Park act Haim, who topped the list) and their hotly-anticipated debut album is due for release this summer.

Birmingham’s Laura Mvula is also one of this year’s hottest new stars. Her debut album Sing to The Moon shot into the top 10 in March and she gained critical acclaim with a coveted Brits Critics' Choice nomination. With her UK headline tour gaining rave reviews, her unique vocals and jazz-meets-soul style are set to go down a storm in Kinross this July.

Earlier this month, LA rockers Deap Vally opened for fellow T in the Park act Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Las Vegas and absolutely smashed their set at Coachella. Next stop is Kinross, when they bring their raw rock ‘n’ roll sound (created with only a guitar, drums and vocals) to the 20th year celebrations this summer.

Alternative-indie duo Jagwar Ma are Sydney’s answer to Madchester and as a result are causing a stir with their debut single, The Throw. With their 90’s inspired tracks Jagwar Ma are tipped to be huge in 2013.

Scunthorpe’s Ruen Brothers uploaded their track Aces to BBC Introducing on Radio Humberside in January and have been causing a stir ever since. The hotly tipped sibling duo are sure to get the crowd going with their 60s-esque rock ‘n’ roll.

New York’s MS MR went down a storm at SXSW slot in March, with an incredible set sure to follow at T in the Park’s 20th year this July. Their debut single Hurricane created a huge buzz in the blogosphere, with their first album Secondhand Rapture set to propel them to greater levels of stardom when it’s released in May. They’re most certainly ones to watch at T in the Park 2013.

US rap sensation Brooke Candy was first discovered after appearing in Grimes music video and was described by Vice Magazine as “the post-apocalyptic Lil’ Kim”; she has opened for the likes of Azealia Banks and put on an explosive performance at the NME Awards Show in February.

Josephine is a soulful chanteuse from Manchester, whose self-reflective debut album Portrait was voted in the top 50 albums of the year by Q Magazine, with the title hailing her “an extraordinary talent.” She’ll showcase her soulful vocal prowess when she makes her T in the Park debut this July.

Over 85,000 festival-goers per day will descend on Kinross over 12th – 14th July for the 20th year of T in the Park, which will feature some of the greatest acts, including headliners Mumford and Sons, Rihanna and The Killers, plus Frank Ocean, Snoop Dogg, Beady Eye, Foals, alt-J, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Courteeners, Jake Bugg and The Lumineers, plus many more still to be announced.

Fans can guarantee they’re part of the 20th year of T in the Park by getting their tickets now from www.tinthepark.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 08444 999 990. Experience the 20th year of T in the Park and join 85,000 music lovers per day as part of the greatest audience in the world this July. Evolution Festival returns with a stellar first wave of artists

Evolution Festival Newcastle Gateshead Quayside

Evolution Festival returns with a stellar first wave of artists

Evolution Festival returns to the North East with another outstanding line-up featuring the most influential and exciting names in popular music right now.  Evolution has been highly acclaiming for delivering fantastic line-ups at unbeatable prices and this year a host of amazing acts will perform for under £40 for the weekend.

Paloma Faith is the queen of retro soul and sassy pop and this this complete (and petite!) performer commands the stage with her rabble rousing shows.

Performing tracks from her two highly acclaimed albums ‘Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful’ and ‘Fall To Grace’ Paloma has been nominated for Best Female Solo Artist and Best British Album at the Brit Awards.

The Vaccines are arguably the best live band in the country and have been nominated as one of the best live acts at the Brit Awards.  The band are also shortlisted in the Best British Band and Best Album categories at the upcoming NME Awards.  Their ‘Come Of Age’ album entered the chart at number 1 and they continue to spearhead the UK’s garage / indie rock movement

Jake Bugg has taken the music world by storm over the last 12 months, seemingly appearing from nowhere to becoming one of the most acclaimed artists in the country.  His eponymous debut album reached number 1 in the charts and has been a permanent fixture in the top 10 ever since.  This 18 year old somehow manages to sound retro and yet absolutely modern and his set is sure to be one of the defining Evolution moments.

One of the UK’s most singular and compelling songwriters Ellie Goulding has found international acclaim with her albums ‘Lights’ and ‘Halcyon’.  Halcyon saw Ellie laying her emotions bare, a journey out of heartbreak and into hope.  Back on track her live performances earned rave reviews in 2012 and this is the first opportunity to catch Ellie at a festival in 2013.

Rudimental are the new drum and bass dons, tearing up clubs where ever they perform and this is a rare chance to catch them live as they bring the sound of the dance floor to Evolution.  Bastille have been cited as the most exciting thing to happen in indie for a long time.  Fronted by Dan Smith the band quietly built a fan base before releasing their debut album Bad Blood which has spawned a number of big radio records over the past few months.

London based duo, AlunaGeorge are the name on all the critics lips in 2013.  Having been together for barely a year, this talented duo’s infectious mixes are immersed in sweet harmonies and electronic charm.  Nominated for both the BBC Sound of 2013 and the Brits Critics Choice award, catch them at Evolution before they go stratospheric.

The Strypes are undoubtedly the hottest band in the world right now.  This four piece rhythm and blues band from Ireland viciously hammer out their no-nonsense blues repertoire and have already met with critical acclaim from greats such as Jeff Beck and Paul Weller for their outstanding live shows.  This is a must not miss performance at Evolution.

Headlining the dance stage are two of the most gargantuan names in electronic music Sub Focus and Modestep both of whom will be performing live.

Sub Focus is one of the superstars of bass music, a production obsessive whose attention to detail is matched only by the raw spectacle of his incredible live show.  A bone fide cross over artist Sub Focus is that rare thing in dance
music, someone who can keep one foot in the underground and still have credible radio hits all of which he will be performing for the Evolution crowd.

Modestep fused dubstep and electronic rock to devastating effect on their debut album ‘Evolution Theory’.  Their sound is a hybrid of heavy rock riffs, brutal synths and bludgeoning synth breaks, all connected together by soulful pop led vocal melodies.  Modestep slay audiences wherever they play.

Other acts confirmed for Evolution include the 21st century soul of rising local star Lulu James, Nas protégé Arlissa, the haunting acoustic indie and folk of Sunderland’s The Lake Poets, Grime superstar Lethal Bizzle, Radio 1 and 1xtra supremo MistaJam and drum and bass / breakstep overlord Zinc.

Loadstar, Delta Heavy, Dismantle, Decibel, Drenge, Bondax, Gorgon City, P Money, Chroma, Gentlemen Jonny,Eliza and the Bear and Rossi Noise will also perform and the North East finest music festival.

Evolution is a snapshot of everything that is vital in contemporary music right now and continues to strive to bring the best artists to the North East to perform in front of the UK’s most rapturous festival audience.  At £29.50 for a day ticketor £39.50 for the weekend, Evolution continues its tradition of providing an amazing show for an unbeatable price.

Evolution Festival promoter Jim Mawdsley comments’  'We have been working damned hard over the last few months to put together the strongest, most varied line up yet! As usual we are proud to have such a strong mix of today's heavy weights and future stars. The dance stage at Ballast Hills will be an even bigger draw this year and again we are producing all of this for the best value ticket in the UK Festival market. I for one can't wait!'

Liverpool Sound City 2013 announce Dexys,Enter Shikari and many more

Liverpool Sound City 2013

Liverpool Sound City 2013 announce Dexys,Enter Shikari and many more

Sound City returns to Liverpool in May showcasing the best in emerging and acclaimed talent from across the globe.  Having previously announced acts such as The Walkmen, Reverend and the Makers, Toy and more, the festival today unveils a further plethora of exceptional musical talent.  Now officially the first festival of the year, Sound City is the discerning music lovers opportunity to catch the world's most exciting new talent, up close and personal, in one place before they hit the summer festival circuit and is a snapshot of everything that is vital in music right now.

Dexys are the quintessential English band who released 'One Day I'm Going To Soar', their fourth studio album, in 2012. Their first since 1985, the album and live shows were hugely well received by critics and fans. The band will play a very special show in the city's beautiful Anglican Cathedral, the first time Liverpool Sound City will use this iconic building.

Enter Shikari are one of the biggest and best rock acts in the country. Their album 'A Flash Flood Of Colour' was voted number 1 album of the year by Kerrang in 2012. Their post hardcore sound has gained them legions of fans who always ensure a raucous and sweaty mosh pit wherever they play.  The band is used to playing huge venues and this 14+ show will be one of the most tumultuous at Sound City.  Psychedelic garage rock comes courtesy of US act Thee Oh Sees whose riot sparking shows hinge upon guitar chewing, melody maiming front man, John Dwyer.

Mount Kimbie have developed a truly unique sound where experimental rhythms play on the fringes of dubstep, wonky and hip hop and ooze with emotion. Their echoing, ambient soundscapes take the audience on a true sonic journey.  The elusive Future Of The Left only tour sporadically, so their badass, intense set is not to be missed.  Theirs is the brooding menace of a band who truly wear their hearts on their sleeves.

London based duo, AlunaGeorge are the name on everyone's lips in 2013.  Having been together for barely a year, this talented duo's infectious mixes are immersed in sweet harmonies and electronic charm.  Nominated for both the BBC Sound of 2013 and the Brits Critics Choice award, catch them at Sound City before they go stratospheric.

King Krule is South East London's rough jewel.  A very talented young man, his unexpected deep and mournful baritone is disappointment and disillusionment personified. His first tour was a sell out, he's (slowly) breaking America having been a standout performance at CMJ, and his show at the Pitchfork Festival made him the talk of Paris.  King Krule's time is now so catch him at Sound City first.

Darkstar's music is for the early hours after a devastating night before and their much anticipated new album, 'News From Nowhere' is due on Warp Records in February.  Unknown Mortal Orchestra are from the US and New Zealand and their music captures encapsulates the psychedelic majesty of fellow antipodeans Tame Impala and fellow West coasters Ariel Graffiti.

Local Liverpool band, Outfit are set to be huge in 2013 and their synth tinged guitar pop has seen them described as a 'Chillwave New Order' by the Guardian.

Sound City last year provided a first chance for new music lovers to see acts such as Mercury Music Prize winners Alt-J, Jake Bugg and Django Django before the bands released critically and commercially acclaimed albums later in the year and this year's batch of fresh faced young talent includes Solely, Theme Park, Amateur Best, Marmozets, Hacktivist, Mind Enterprises, Dan Croll and Brolin as well as a showcase from the much celebrated label, Double Denim Records.

Described as a "Social Media Hellraiser" by The New York Times, Jon Morter is best known for his gatecrashing of the music industry in 2009 with his phenomenal 'Rage Against The X Factor' campaign, sweeping Rap/Metal band Rage Against The Machine into the sought after UK Christmas No.1 spot. His carefully executed plan not only outsold the previously unbeatable X Factor single, but broke a Guinness chart record in the process as well as raising over £150,000 for charity. This success opened the door for Jon to work on campaigns for some big artists in the industry including Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Rod Stewart, a No.1 album for The Rolling Stones, plus the 2012 Christmas No.1 campaign for The Justice Collective in aid of the Hillsborough families.  Jon was also instrumental in the campaign to save BBC 6 Music.

Jon also infamous for creating the 'Condescending Corporate Brand', a cheeky swipe at large companies trying to 'do' social media and his presence at the Sound City conference is a real coup for the event and is sure to provide a witty and perceptive look at social media engagement for bands and brands.

As part of its conference which is open to the public, Sound City will be giving young artists and musicians valuable insights into making it in the industry by presenting Q and A's with acts who have huge experience of the highs and lows of the music industry.  Tracey Thorn, whose music career spans three decades and takes in the defining genres of recent decades: post-punk, indie, pop, trip hop and dance is confirmed for a Q and A. Liverpool's biggest music export of the last decade have been The Wombats and lead singer Murph and manager Simon Bobbet will be giving a candid insight into the unique relationship between a band and its manager.

Acclaimed for its bold and innovative programming and forward thinking conference, Liverpool Sound City is focused on the future, intent on bringing the best new music, film, art and more from all over the world to Liverpool.

Liverpool Sound City brings established acts to intimate venues and introduces you to tomorrow's headliners today.  With hundreds more bands, pop culture initiatives and a conference programme to be unveiled, Liverpool Sound City is the UK's premier cultural happening.

Having sold out last year’s inaugural festival in a staggering seven weeks, Love Saves The Day returns to Bristol for a day of musical anarchy, immersing Castle Park in very best in dance music.  Conceived by the brains behind Glastonbury’s WOW stage, See No Evil and one half of the team behind the much lauded In:Motion series, Love Saves The Day celebrates musical pioneers and innovators bringing together some of the finest DJ’s and live acts that the globe has to offer.

Love Saves The Day are delighted to play host to a live performance from eclectic multi instrumentalist, Bonobo. Having gained worldwide recognition for his unique and untarnished approach to production, Bonobo is a revered name on the World-wide dance music circuit.  He rocked the Futureboogie stage last year with a fantastic DJ set – this time he brings with him a full live set-up to perform on the Main-Stage.

Seth Troxler is defined by the consistently brilliant and beautifully unpredictable approach to his sets.  This Detroit house inspired dynamo and co-founder of Visionquest was rated as the world’s best DJ in Resident Advisor’s 2012 DJ poll.

One of the dance music success stories of 2012 was peerless clan Rudimental who took the nation by storm with their number one single ‘Feel The Love’. Their highly anticipated debut album is due for release in 2013.   Rudimental will be performing live for what promises to be a storm of a show.

London based duo, AlunaGeorge are the name on everyone’s lips in 2013.  Having been together for barely a year, this talented duo’s infectious mixes are immersed in sweet harmonies and electronic charm.  Nominated for both the BBC Sounds of 2013 and the Brits Critics Choice award, their much-anticipated live performance at Love Saves The Day will be un-missable as will technicolor collective Crazy P who have been leaving their mark on the landscape of British dance music for the last 15 years.

Bristol resident Eats Everything has gained international recognition for his signature brand of bass heavy house, doused in techy cut ups and soulful harmonies whilst Joy Orbison has been a key figure on the circuit since his seminal track Hyph Mngo blew up in 2009 and the prolific producer has since released a series of deservingly hyped tracks including his infamous collaborations with Boddika.

Jackmaster is an integral part of the BBC’s new DJ roster and the Numbers founder continues to pave the way in UK bass movement.  Expect a sharp track set, featuring everything from Detroit house and 90’s dance classics to disco anthems and garage.  Meanwhile Monki, another of Radio One’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’ promises to show us that the ladies are doing it for us – just as much as the new wave of males.

As with last year, Love Saves The Day promises to be the place to see acts before they blow up into the main stream.  Hoping to follow acts such as Disclosure and Jessie Ware, who graced the festival in 2012, are the much-hyped Bicep, Bondax, Dusky, Roses Gabor and The Other Tribe.  Watch this space.

Mr Scruff is the legendary DJ, cartoonist, producer and tea drinker.  His much revered DJ sets take in Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Dubstep, Latin, African, Ska, Disco, House, Funk, Breaks, Soundtracks & lots more and his set will be an undoubted festival high.

Shy FX also leads in his heralded Digital Soundboy crew to the festival for the first time.  Riding high after his recent re-edit of ‘Gold Dust’ received huge radio play, Shy is joined by both Breakage and Dismantle, as well as some yet unannounced guests.

Also confirmed for Love Saves The Day are Âme, Deetron, Maxxi Soundsystem, Mickey Pearce, Outboxx, Paleman, Dubious and A.Quake, Feel The Real, Tom Rio and Dan Wild, Waifs and Strays, Futureboogie DJs, Jus Now and Christophe and Lukas.

Love Saves The Day partners with some of Bristol’s finest clubbing institutions including Just Jack, The Dance Off Crew, Shapes, Apex and Futureboogie.

More names will be added shortly as Love Saves The Day builds upon the legacy it laid down in 2012.  Having put on the best parties and club nights in the South West over the last 10 years, the Love Saves The Day team continue to push aural and visual boundaries and provide inspirational environments for music lovers to enjoy the very best sounds the globe has to offer.
