Beat-Herder Festival 2014 announces surprise guest ABC 

With the party of the season just days away Beat-Herder has announced a special surprise show – ABC live!

 

The legendary Sheffield new-wavers hit the heights in the 80’s with singles like Poison Arrow and The Look of Love and will be performing a set full of their electro-pop hits on the main stage this Saturday.

 

Said festival co-founder Nick Chambers: “We always like to keep a little something up our sleeves – a surprise treat for all the Herders that got their tickets in early.”

 

It’s going to be a great show and will definitely blend into the bonkersness of the whole event, especially if Martin wears his famous gold lamé suit. Bring on the weekend!”

 

The legendary Lancastrian festival boasts a line-up chock full of huge names including Happy Mondays, Eats Everything, Badly Drawn Boy, Jagwar Ma, The Orb, James Lavelle, Howard Marks, Boney M., Vitalic, The Bloody Beetroots, Hot Since 82, The 2 Bears, The Sunshine Underground, Utah Saints, Justin Robertson, Mr. Scruff, Dub Pistols, Klangkarussell, Nucleus Roots, Greg Wilson, Bipolar Sunshine, DJ Format, The Utah Saints, Riva Starr, Wolf Alice, Ibibio Sound System and Goldie Looking Chain. 

 

Beat-Herder is a a completely different festival experience to anyother with Herders enjoying 15 unique, craftsman built stages including the mighty Beat Herder Stage, the oriental mystery of The Fortress, the heady atmosphere of The Woods, the Trailer Trash Big Top, the cosy Snug, the incredible, authentic Working Men’s Club (step inside, you could literally be in Todmorden in 1971) and much more beside.

  

Over the year’s Beat-Herder has played host to some of the best-loved acts on the planet from global names to emerging talent, from Groove Armada to Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry to Leftfield to Jake Bugg and all points between.

 

Renowned as one of the best parties of the summer Beat-Herder is celebrating it’s ninth year this July (Fri 18 – Sun 20) in the beautiful setting of the Ribble Valley in the shadow of Pendle Hill.

Beat-Herder festival 2014 sold out

With almost three weeks left until Beat-Herder, tickets to the party of the season are now sold out.  

Said festival co-founder Nick Chambers: “Last year was amazing, the thing with Beat-Herder is that people want to come back again and again. It looks like everyone is bringing more friends to enjoy the party. The attention to detail and the creations we have are ridiculous and they really make it special. For the soundtrack we’ve put together a great bill and such a diverse array of acts.”

Badly Drawn Boy to Play Beat-Herder Festival 2014

With just over a month left until the party of the season and tickets in short supply Beat-Herder are still pulling out all the stops to deliver a world-class live bill with the announcement of Mancunian troubadour Badly Drawn Boy. 

The legendary singer songwriter will take the stage on Saturday afternoon in what promises to be a highlight of the festival. 

Said festival co-founder Nick Chambers: “It’s a coup to get Damon on the bill. We always thought he’d be perfect for the Saturday day slot - it’s going to be a real treat for all the Herders to kick back and enjoy a Badly Drawn Boy set!” 

Also freshly revealed for the main stage is the festival debut of La Rochelle Band – live incarnation of Austrian musician and producer Peter Cruseder. A UK festival exclusive the set promises to powerful, hypnotic and groovy.

With less than two months to go Beat-Herder is proud to reveal its next additions to an already mighty bill. Fresh acts include DJ, artist and Mo Wax label boss James Lavelle, techno supremo Dave Angel, Herr Styler, Shepdog, indie pop prodigies The Sunshine Underground, dub legends Nucleus Roots, Bristol’s finest Mr. Benn, Megadog head honcho Michael Dog, Mr. Nice himself Howard Marks, prize-winning beatboxer Reeps One and many more taking the bill to well over 100 acts across the three days.
