Pigeon Detectives announce new single and autumn tour

The Pigeon Detectives announce new Single ‘Lost’ (15^th August 2011, Dance To The Radio) and Autumn tour dates.

Fresh from another storming and sweaty UK and European tour (which included a Police escort to their show in Munich), The Pigeon Detectives announce the release of the second single ‘Lost’. Taken from their third album UP, GUARDS AND AT ‘EM! which was recorded over the period of two months in New York City under the watchful eyes of producer Justin Gerrish (who’s last major job was helping to mix Vampire Weekend’s ‘Contra’).

Already established as a firm live favourite, Lost lands ahead of the band’s appearance on the main stage at Reading and Leeds this August and at Northern Lights Festival in Scotland on July 30th. The accompanying video sees the boys doing what they do best – playing out the anthemic track in front of a highly energised audience.

The band head out on the road again this autumn.

Amycanbe - The World is Round EP out 25th May

Amycanbe hail from the coastal area of Romagna in north-eastern Italy. Originally comprised of Marco and Mattia, they formed in 2002. After one year they met Francesca, and the band started taking shape. The approach and the musical taste of the trio, coming from different experiences, perfectly complimented each other. Shortly, light but never banal compositions emerged from the band. Francesca's singing came together with simple and measured arrangements. The fourth element of the band, Paolo (wind instruments, guitar and synth) brought strength to all these characteristics. There was and remains a common interest with Amycanbe to combine acoustic and electronic sounds.

By January 2004 the band was settled. After the first live performances in clubs, theatres and bars in Romagna, Amycanbe recorded a self-produced EP with 5 songs. It attracted the attention of critics and attained widespread success. Blow Up magazine placed Amycanbe in the playlist of the best debutant Italian indie band of the 2005. In May and September 2005 Amycanbe open for Skin and Yuppie Flu.

In early 2007, after been featured on '50 Minutes' and 'Merdeka' compilation CDs.  the band signed a record deal with UK indie label Dancing Turtle Records, and their debut album 'Being A Grown-Up Sure Is Complicated' was released, as a good low key affair, in October of the same year to critical acclaim. This co-incided with a UK tour that saw the band play in Leeds, Bristol, Oxford and Sheffield, as well as the album launch at 12 Bar in London. The band also did radio sessions for the BBC and received plays on BBC Radio 1.

Since then the buzz has been growing-up a lot and the gigs around Italy and UK as well.

The band just finished a new project called The World Is Round which the song Rose Is A Rose (PEACE Mix) has been available as a preview of the project included in PEACE benefit Amnesty compilation, together with acclaimed alternative artists such as Sakamoto, Mogwai, Micha P. Hinson and many others...and then reached the no 1 of the Indie Top 100 Charts - Friendvote - Backstage.

The World Is Round, a unique initiative produced by Open Productions & Assalti Al Cuore, is finally available.

Inspired by Gertude Stein novel, this mini-album is a visionary concept, including 5 unreleased new tracks by Amycanbe, all covered, one by one, by an original artwork specially drawn by the great painter Simone Brandi

The art and the songs will be available and listenable in streaming through the band's main site
