Female fronted 5-piece, Argonaut, to release new single Vintage Dress

Female fronted 5-piece, Argonaut, release their second single from their self titled album which came out late 2012.

The Album demonstrates a mix of their rock influences, including Sonic Youth, Garbage, Hole and The Pixies, and has already gained vast support from the Club Circuit. From the guitar led grunge of tracks like ‘Touch Electric’ playing out at Club NME, Propaganda and a number of the other scene clubs, to the stripped back sounds of tracks like ‘Chemistry’, the album represents a band who are not afraid to experiment with their sound and emotions.

Argonaut with their album confirms that the buzz around them is more than justified whilst suggesting the band will reach greater more impressive heights over the near horizon.

Lead vocalist of Argonaut, Lorna Lyons, revealed she is putting her fashion skills to good use, creating special edition vintage items for keen supporters of the band.

Inspired by punk rock collage art, Lorna has been scouting for vintage items that she can re-create and personalize, all for the benefit of loyal fans. Additions such as black lace, studs and skull designs set the items apart from the norm, with cut out newspaper letters representing the glamour of media obsessions surrounding music and fashion.

All the items are created with hand written notes, much in the style of the ‘confession notes’ the band sold on their successful ‘Pledge Music’ campaign, which saw the band raise thousands to make their album.

Nicole Moudaber on Radio One Essential Mix this Saturday

Nicole Moudaber will be playing a whole host of new music and premiering unreleased tracks forthcoming on Drumcode and her yet-to-launch label MOOD Records, during her performance at the coveted Radio 1's Essential Mix on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 01:00. The invitation to perform on this exclusive radio venue – "the world’s biggest DJs on the world’s biggest decks" - further consolidates her standing as the underground queen of dance music.

A flawless producer and passionate DJ, Nicole rocks crowds around the globe with her heady mix of mysterious soulfulness, razor sharp technique and warm, infectious energy. "It’s a great honour and a milestone for any DJ to get the opportunity to do their first Essential Mix," says Nicole. "It’s also an acknowledgement of all the hard work and dedication I've put into my music and performances over the past three years, and I will continue to do so for many more years to come." Nicole is one of the select artists that Carl Cox has heavily supported, and she will be performing alongside Carl at his Revolution Recruits parties at Space Ibiza for the fourth summer in a row this year. Whether live, or on-air on Radio 1's Essential Mix this Saturday, get ready to fall in love with the majestic grooves of a first-class performer.

Reigning supreme with impeccable technical skill and tune selection Nicole’s flawlessly executed music combines edgy, percussive house with tough, soulful techno sounds to create a unique mix that is pure Moudaber and utterly devastating. She exudes a mysterious glamour with her rebellious mane and smoky eyes but is also known for being highly approachable, taking time to greet fans at clubs and answering their tweets personally on Twitter. A funky diva who is, herself, a passionate clubber, Nicole knows all the moves to ensure that nobody leaves the dancefloor when she hits the decks. On the production end, she’s already earned critical acclaim, having spent weeks at the top of the Beatport Techno Chart with her remix of Sian and Mladen Tomec’s ‘Front Pocket’ on Octopus and her version of Carl Cox’s ‘Chemistry’ on Intec. She also scooped a prestigious IDMA at Miami’s Winter Music Conference, winning the award for ‘Best Minimal/Techno Track’. In addition, Moudaber has dropped killer original tracks for other labels including Drumcode, 8Sided Dice, Kling Klong and Waveform Recordings, while remixing the likes of Santos, Martin Eyerer, Mauro Picotto, and Bart Skills.

But most of all she is an artist driven to create a distinct groove that takes people on a techno driven journey of transcendent nonstop dancing – regardless of whether she’s playing at a huge festival like the Electric Daisy Carnival or at an intimate club like Cielo NYC. Nicole says the is incredibly thankful for the endless flow of positive energy from fans and fellow artists: "I thank everyone who's supported me by coming out to a show or by buying a record. But this is just the beginning…"

Three new jewels in her crown in 2012

Nicole has several new exciting projects and performances in the pipeline including the upcoming releases of a 2-track EP in collaboration with Victor Calderone near the end of July and a Solo EP in October, both on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Records. She is also working on a lot of new original material with plans to launch her own label, MOOD Records, in late 2012. Currently Nicole is touring in the U.S. before heading back to play major festivals in Europe including Awakenings, Tomorrowland and UMF Poland as well as various clubs including Cocoon Frankfurt, Rex Paris, Cocorico Rimini, and Harry Klein Munich, She is also joining Carl Cox for the Opening Party of the Revolution Recruits at Space Ibiza on July 3rd (and several other Revolution dates this summer) and the ADE in the Netherlands on October 17th. In other words, Nicole is a woman whose music is in high demand with no plans to hit the brakes anytime soon. On the contrary, according to Nicole, she’s just starting to hit her stride and she’s looking forward to touching even more people with her signature sound. So tune in to Nicole on Radio 1’s Essential Mix this Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 01:00 for a taste of what Nicole has in store for us.
