Indie-rock quartet Bernaccia announce free download single

Indie-rock Bernaccia free download single

Indie-rock quartet Bernaccia announce free download single

Blues-rock four-piece Bernaccia are pleased to announce their new EP, ‘Light //-// Dark’, set for release on 24th November.

Following the success of their widely praised ‘Cinema’ EP, the Newcastle-based collective return with an explosive anthology of hard-hitting blues, rock and folk – a combination that has already seen them win the hearts of The Crack and Louder Than War, amongst others. Taking influence from the likes of The Doors and Johnny Cash, the foursome create a riveting sculpture of atmospheres, rhythmic slavery, and melodic seduction – one that is simultaneously expansive yet intimate.

Opening track ‘Street Life’ commences with a lone organ, before thumping drums and tremolo-laden guitars take centre stage. Reminiscent of American psychedelic rock group The Black Angels, this blues-licked blockbuster aptly displays Bernaccia’s ability to create dark, woozy soundscapes. Vocalist Jonny Noble’s menacing gravelly vocals cut through the fierce backbone of the track, before a cutthroat harmonica brings the track to a powerful climax.

Darkness Walks’, a riff-heavy offering, ups the ante with pulsing Royal Blood-esque melodies throughout. As the title suggests, this is a dark and deadly beast, with a thunderous bassline leading the charge. Noble orchestrates proceedings with his Jim Morrison-like vocal sitting hauntingly over the procession of jangling guitars and thrashed cymbals, while the thunderous finale ebbs into an eerie ending.

Next on the agenda is ‘Manifest’, a powerful blues melody greeted by spaghetti western-esque whistles that is currently being offered as a free download –via their Soundcloud page. Noble drives the affair in characteristically dominant fashion, before being joined by the enchanting voice of guest vocalist Ellen Chetcuti, whose serene trill provides the perfect contrast in this downtempo serenade. Rumbling drums and spacey guitars are a signature of Bernaccia’s sound, and ‘Manifest’ encompasses these features exquisitely, before a lone whistle defiantly returns, elegantly transitioning into the concluding number.

Closing track ‘Blue Man’ opens with a chorus of gospel-licked hums, greeted by dainty swung drums and swirling acoustic guitars, before reverb-charged vocals enter the frame. Chetcuti again shares the stage on the concluding track, adding an Americana feel to this already Deep South-inflected number and leading the EP to a rousing finish.

Having recently shared the stage with the likes of Royal Blood and Wolf People, Bernaccia are taking both the North East and the rest of the UK by storm with their unique take on blues-rock. A show-stopping appearance at Evolution Emerging 2014 demonstrated the group’s telling ability to work a crowd, and ‘Light //-// Dark’ looks set to prove them as a real force to be reckoned with.

Youngblood Hawke To Ignite The Pressure Tour

Youngblood Hawke The Pressure Tour

Youngblood Hawke To Ignite The Pressure Tour

YOUNGBLOOD HAWKE will ignite “The Pressure Tour” starting May 16 at Manifest in Chicago, IL. All tickets are available now here! The jaunt sees them return to the road as headliners before supporting Panic at The Disco on the group’s summer amphitheater tour, commencing August 12 at PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, OH and stopping at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA on August 30.

“The Pressure Tour” takes its name from the group’s incendiary 2014 single “Pressure”. With magnetic harmonies, and an irresistible hook, the song ponders its titular subject as a force of both destruction and creation. It fittingly heralds the next chapter for the Los Angeles outfit. You can watch the lyric video here!

Immediately, radio stations began spinning the song with support coming from longtime fans Alt Nation on Sirius/XM and more. Meanwhile, 98.7FM in L.A. named it one of “Best New Songs of the Year”.

In 2012, their breakout debut single, “We Come Running”, was featured as iTunes “Single of the Week” and peaked at #5 at Alternative Radio. The band performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rachael Ray, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Their 2013 full-length debut, Wake Up, received praise from Rolling Stone, NME, The Huffington Post, and more. It landed in the Top 10 of iTunes Albums Chart, Top 5 of iTunes Alternative Chart, and was iTunes “Editor’s Choice”.  The band went on to play countless sold-out headline gigs throughout 2013.  Songs from Wake Up have been heard in film, TV, and branding campaigns. Among those placements the NBC Winter Olympics, Netflix, Fox Sports, NASCAR, American Idol, The Oprah Winfrey Network, The CW, E!, 90210, So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Got Talent, and more.

‘Manifest!’ Album and ‘Mind Control’ Single
Debut Album to be released June 4 on Lucky Number, Single to be released May 28
“Equal parts untouchable cool and indelible, hook-laden pop music” - Q
“Insanely catchy bursts of indie pop...one of the hottest new bands around” – Grazia
“Brooklyn’s hippest supergroup” - Elle
“Sharply set piece of indie disco funk...you don’t have to be psychic to guess what larks 2012 has in store for these guys” - NME
After blazing out of Bushwick in 2011 with the two buzz-worthy singles, “I’m His Girl” and “Friend Crush”, a reputation for turning live gigs into spontaneous DIY parties (and vice versa), and a bio built to withstand the most cynical indie-blog cred-vetting – Brooklyn’s Friends will release their debut album Manifest!, June 4th on Lucky Number.
Produced by the band – singer Samantha Urbani; multi-instrumentalists Lesley Hann, Matthew Molnar, and Nikki Shapiro; and drummer Oliver Duncan –its twelve tracks were recorded between last summer and this spring with engineer Daniel Schlett at Strange Weather studios in Brooklyn.
Full track-listing and more details are forthcoming but, for now, as a further provocative taster we are delighted to present the anthemic “Mind Control”, which is to be the band’s next single and the album’s climax.
Mixed by Paul Epworth, it sums up the seditious streak of Manifest!  The musical choices are brazen even by Friends’ standards: superfly bass, slinky synth, crybaby wah, bongo solo, group chants.  Lyrically, it also might be the Friends manifesto, were it not for the strong possibility that Ms. Urbani is taking the piss.
“I don’t want to rule or be ruled/I just want the right to be cool/However I chose to do what I do/Wherever I choose to be or with whom/Hey, I don’t need your money, I can grown my own food/I don’t need your beauty standard, I can be my own dude.”
With “Mind Control” already anointed the Hottest Record in the World by Zane Lowe on Radio 1, the band’s Spring tour close to selling out and more shows to come in the Summer, Friends look set to make the rest of the year theirs alone.
