The Janoskians Cook Up Worldwide Got Cake Tour

The Janoskians Got Cake Tour

The Janoskians Cook Up Worldwide Got Cake Tour

Melbourne-born masters of “social disturbance” and pop punk mischief makers, THE JANOSKIANS are cooking up something very special for their fans around the globe.

Following the success of their first sold-out “#NotaBoyBand” tour last year, the boys will embark on another worldwide run with the “Got Cake Tour”.  The upcoming tour will make its way to major markets across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe (see dates below.) A limited fan presale will begin on May 7th at 10 am local time directly on THE JANOSKIANS website. Fans will have additional opportunities to purchase tickets early by signing up for a Facebook RSVP at http://bit.ly/JanoskiansRSVP, with those tickets going on-sale May 8th.  Tickets will go on sale to the public May 9, 2014.  Tour dates in their native Australia will be announced at a later date. For full ticket info visit: www.The-Janoskians.com.

Citi is the official credit card of the “Got Cake Tour.”  Citi cardmembers will also have access to presale tickets beginning May 7th at 10am ET through Citi’s Private Pass Program.  For complete presale details visit www.citiprivatepass.com.  Additionally, fans interested in VIP Meet and Greet Packages may also visit VIPNation.com.

Just in time for the tour announcement, THE JANOSKIANS will also reveal their brand new song “Real Girls Eat Cake”- which it should be noted is “#NotaSingle,” on May 12 through iTunes and all digital retailers. The pre-order is now live at: http://smarturl.it/JanoskiansRGECiT, where the song is available at a special price through May 12.

Produced and written by hitmakers Orange Factory Music (OFM) and Jay Sean- who to date have sold a combined 15 million singles worldwide, “Real Girls Eat Cake” marks the band’s first release for REPUBLIC RECORDS.  The song marries surf-style guitar and a ska bounce before colliding into an anthemic 90’s influenced, ska-core refrain. However, it only begins to feed the massive fan demand for more music from the quintet.

For the unfamiliar, in 2011, JANOSKIANS mayhem started brewing when the group uploaded their first “Awkward Train Situations” video to YouTube. As the fan base grew, they continually released hilarious and disruptive content, gaining over 1.35 million YouTube subscribers and counting as well as accruing more than 100 million combined views.

Their inaugural “#NotaBoyBand” tour boasted a “Variety Show”-style set that engaged audiences in a revolutionary fashion through manipulating social media. A meet and greet in London’s Hyde Park drew a mob of approximately ten thousand fans, forcing the boys to evacuate. They later shut down the world renowned Beverly Center in L.A. as thousands of girls flooded the mall.  Meanwhile, an appearance in Times Square in February 2014 drew 20,000 fans and REPUBLIC RECORDS, who signed them shortly after.

Harts drops new single 'The Music' from debut EP 'Offtime'

Harts new single The Music

Harts drops new single 'The Music' from debut EP 'Offtime'

Yesterday saw the release of 'The Music', the newest single to be lifted from Harts' debut EP 'Offtime', also out today.

'The Music' follows on from the success of the Melbourne solo artist's first single 'All Too Real', which featured heavily on Australia Triple J, and was also supported by BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson. Music Week featured the track on their weekly 'The Playlist', and he also received plaudits from the likes of Killing Moon, The Sound of Confusion, and ShinyShinyNew.

Harts' unique sound is an amalgamation of the music that has influenced him from the past several decades, from 60s Rock to 70s Funk through Disco, then into 80s Glam and Pop through to 90s Grunge, on through to late 90s/early 00s Dance, finally shot through with early 2000s Indie Rock and Alternative Electro.

His 5 track EP, 'Offtime' was mixed by Lars Stalfors of The Mars Volta, who heard his demos and offered to help bring a better and stronger mix to them.

Melbourne based garage rock band Valentine release debut single Love Like

Valentine release debut single Love Like

Melbourne based garage rock band Valentine release debut single Love Like

Valentiine are Vanessa (guitar/vocals), Erica (bass/vocals) and Shelly (drums/vocals), 3 girls who reincarnate the heavy 90’s into something beautiful - dirty pop hooks drowned in the honesty of screaming vocals with seething cheerleader harmonies over the top.  Their live shows fill the room with a dark beauty and simple melodies that’ll rent a room in your head and refuse to leave.

After 3 years earning their musical stripes, crowding out Melbourne’s most loved dirty little pubs and playing the likes of St. Kilda Fest and the Cherry Rock festival, they left their iconic combi van behind and in September 2012 set off on a European tour covering 22 shows throughout UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, including sets at OxJam Festival in Leicester and Grungapolooza festival in Leipzig, Germany.

Their European jaunt caught the eye and ears of both Integrity Records (Million Dead, Reuben, Miniature Dinosaurs) and a UK manager.

Vanessa: "Having the label chosen by Kat Bjelland for her post-Babes In Toyland     releases come in for us was so cool. We were like' Where do we sign?  And who's buying the beers?'"

'Love Like' is the first single taken from the eponymous debut album, of which Australia's Beat Magazine says:

The three young Melbourne ladies have taken one for the team here and smashed it out     of the park on their scorching debut album. It’s proper, raw, gruelling femme-rock

'Love Like' is out on April 8th, through iTunes, Amazon and other reputable download stores.  The album and a further UK tour follow in June.

Katie Cole releases New Single I Can’t Wait - 22:10:12

Katie Cole

Katie Cole releases New Single I Can’t Wait - 22:10:12

Meet Katie Cole originally from Melbourne , Australia , now based in Los Angeles , USA . Does she dominate with ballads? No. Does she compose songs on the piano? Rarely. What she does do then? She rocks and enjoys a loud guitar, a strong melodic hook and an up tempo pop song. Growing up on a strict diet of rock music from her Mum, she was fed Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin in one ear and Maria Callas from her Vocally classically trained, Father. After a quick detour in music to Smashing Pumpkins, Aretha Franklin and Eurythmics, Katie describes her own style of music as having flavors of Sheryl Crow, KT Tunstall and Carolina Liar.

After writing songs for established artists like Gloria Gaynor, Katie spent a good handful of years touring in Australia where she released an EP locally. Acclaimed Record Producer Howard Willing (Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows, Liz Phair, Sheryl Crow, Ok Go) found her music on the web and reached out to Katie to discuss working together. She jumped a few planes back and forth before realising that stateside was where she wanted to be, whether in the industry buzz of LA or the cultural spur of Nashville . With 2 suitcases, a computer and her guitar, Katie upped and re-located to Cali for good.

Since then, she has won awards both stateside and down under for song-writing. Aside from playing in Nashville and New York , Katie performs in Los Angeles regularly sharing the stage with names like Jackson Browne and Glen Campbell. She also sang vocals on Campbell ’s last record Ghost On The Canvas including "It's Your amazing Grace". Katie’s last EP ‘Lost Inside A Moment’ had 2 songs play listed on BBC Radio 2 and also featured on Aled Jones’s Good Morning Sunday.
The upcoming album Lay It All Down from which this single is taken features vocals by living legend, songwriting and screen icon Kris Kristofferson. It also contains sterling musicians like 2 members of John Mayer's band Aaron Sterling (drums on records for Natasha Bedingfield, Glen Campbell) and Sean Hurley (bass on records for John Mayer, Colbie Caillat), Roger Manning Jr (Jellyfish, Beck), Tim Pierce (Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill) and many more.
