The Rolling Stones to announce major announcement via Twitter Q&A

The Rolling Stones are going to take part in their first live Twitter Q+A on Monday, and have promised that a major announcement will take place.

Ahead of their massive US tour, the band will use the @RollingStones account to answer questions, as well as their personal account (@mickjagger, @officialkeef and @ronniewood). One suspects that they may steer clear of certain topics (not least the inter band rivalry) but the chance to grill Keith Richards on pretty much any subject is never one to pass up.

After hinting at it in early May, Adele has now officially announced her new album will be called “25.” The news came from an unlikely place, the World Music Awards Twitter account, which also said Adele will be touring in 2015.

Adele’s last album, “21,” sold more than 26 million copies worldwide and included the songwriting chops of Denver’s Ryan Tedder, who helped out on the hit, “Rumour Has It.”

Rising indie rockers Catfish and The Bottlemen have announced a 16 date UK headline tour. Full dates and details are below.

With their earlier announced London show at Koko nearly sold out, the indication is that tickets to their other gigs will be snapped up early.

The band are currently in the midst of a busy festival season, playing over 30 dates including Reading/Leeds and Latitude, and gaining a high reputation for their explosive live shows.

Their debut album The Balcony will be released via Island/Communion on September 15.

News of their major label record deal, big headline shows, and major festival appearances are remarkable for a band who a year ago were still touring small pubs.

Billy Idol announces new album

Rock icon Billy Idol announced today that he will release his first new album in almost a decade this October. The album will come out on Idol's own BFI Records, via Kobalt Label Services.

Produced by Trevor Horn, the new album will arrive close to the release of Idol's highly anticipated self-written autobiography, Dancing With Myself, which will be released throughout the world this autumn.

Idol recently launched his book campaign with a notable appearance at New York's Book Expo America and is now on the road in Europe with his band, which includes long-time collaborator and lead guitarist Steve Stevens. The current leg of Idol's tour continues until July 4 in Luxembourg.

Initial music from the new album will be released in late summer; Idol's world tour will continue into 2015.

Pharrell Williams announces European and UK tour dates

Pharrell Williams is to play two UK shows as part of his 'Dear G I R L' European tour later this year. 

The Grammy Award-winning solo star, formerly of NERD, will play both Manchester's Phones4U Arena and the O2 in London. 

The month-long tour will also feature shows in Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. 

The 'Happy' star will kick off 'Dear G I R L' in Manchester on September 9, before returning to the UK to close the tour in London on October 9.

Paul Weller to play Intimate London Shows

'More Modern Classics' is the name of Paul Weller's upcoming album which takes some of his best hits from the past 15 years of his solo career and puts them all in the one place. This LP follows on from Weller's 1998 release 'Modern Classics' which showcased the first half of his hugely successful solo career.

Some of the tracks to be featured on 'More Modern Classics' include 'From the Floorboards Up,' 'That Dangerous Age' as well as new single 'Brand New Toy' that was released in aid of this years Record Store Day.

'More Modern Classics' will be released June 2nd but before that Paul Weller will play three intimate gigs in London next week which have already sold out.

Lana Del Rey Sets Ultraviolence Release Date

After weeks of building anticipation and a string of teases, Lana Del Rey has officially announced the release date of her second album, "Ultraviolence." The new full-length will be arriving through Interscope/Polydor on June 17.

"Ultraviolence" will arrive nearly two and a half years after the January 2012 release of Del Rey's debut album, "Born To Die." That album included the singles "Video Games," "Born To Die," "Blue Jeans" and the "Summertime Sadness," the latter of which was remixed by Cedric Gervais and became a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 chart.

"West Coast," the lead single from "Ultraviolence," debuted at No. 17 on the Hot 100 chart following its live debut at Coachella on Apr. 13. Since then, Del Rey has shared the "Ultraviolence" album artwork and its track list, which includes songs titled "Fucked My Way Up to the Top," "Money Power Glory" and "Sad Girl." Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys produced the new album.

Del Rey is currently on tour in North America, with her next show scheduled for Thursday night (May 15) at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit. Along with Coachella, the 27-year-old performed at the Sweetlife Music Festival last weekend.

Metallica, You Me At Six and Paramore join Kerrang! Award nominees

Metallica, You Me At Six and Paramore are among the nominees for this year's Kerrang! Awards.

Surrey rockers You Me At Six are up for five gongs for Best Single, Best Album, Best British Band, Best Live Band and Hottest Male, for guitarist Max Helyer, after their album 'Cavalier Youth' hit the number one spot.

Metallica, who are rumoured to be headlining this year's Glastonbury Festival, have been nominated for Best International Band and Best Film for 'Through The Never', while Paramore are up for Best Live Band and Best Event for Parahoy!

The acts join Fall Out Boy, 30 Seconds To Mars, Green Day and 5 Seconds of Summer in a number of categories.

Eminem will perform at London's Wembley Stadium in July

Eminem is to become the first rapper to headline Wembley Stadium. For his first London show since 2001, he is to play the 90,000-capacity stadium on 11 July.

The rapper said the show came about because he was going to be unable to play a different London outdoor venue this summer. “I heard that I wasn't going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer,” he said. “The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible….for Wembley."

In the last 13 years, Eminem's only UK dates have been headline slots at festivals. However, he has retained his commercial clout. His last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 went straight into the UK charts at No 1, and made him the first US act to achieve seven consecutive UK No 1 albums.

Tickets for the Wembley show will go on sale at 9am on Friday 9 May.

Ed Sheeran and The Game confirm plans for a joint album

The Game has confirmed plans for a joint album with Ed Sheeran, promising a "crazy" double LP at the end of this year or early 2015.

"Ed came up with the idea to start working on a joint album, and we started doing it," the rapper told MTV News. "We were just planning to record one song; we ended up doing like seven." Seven became 11 and now there's so much music that the Game and Sheeran will split it into two parts: "It'll be two CDs," he said. "The way I would do an album, with his help, and the way he would do an album with my features."

"The songs that we got, they’re real songs," the Game declared. "We was just going. He was on that guitar. Acoustically, he’s a genius, man."

The team-up got its start back in December 2012, when Sheeran tweeted his admiration for the Game's album Jesus Piece. "I responded, we exchanged numbers on the DM, and then we got in the studio," the Game recalled. Though Sheeran is best known as an acoustic troubadour, the team-up is not as unlikely as all that: the 23-year-old raps on one of his new album's bonus tracks, and last year collaborated with the MC Lupe Fiasco.

Sheeran's hip-hop debut will have to wait until after the release of his second solo album, this June. Meanwhile the Game has two albums in the pipeline: a compilation called Blood Moon, out with Blood Money Entertainment this summer, and his official sixth solo album, which he hopes to put out with Cash Money. "Lawyers [are] talking," he said.

The Game has sold more than 10m albums worldwide, including more than five million copies of 2005's The Documentary, which reached number seven on the UK chart.

 

Biffy Clyro have completed 14 songs for brand new album

Speaking to XFM, the band's frontman Simon Neil said that he's already written 14 songs for the follow-up to 2013's double album 'Opposites'. Of the band's prospective seventh LP, Neil commented: "I've written about 14 songs so far. We're kind of doing some demos of them at the moment. The fact that the ball is rolling on this record is very exciting, I think we'll look to record it maybe the start of next year, possibly out for the end of next year."

He added: "To me making a record, it's an ongoing process. You might not be ready to record it in a couple of months but the creativity and the evolution of the band, it picks up exactly where it left off."

Biffy Clyro will headline this summer's T In The Park and Isle of Wight Festivals. After those two appearances Neil said that the band will go off the radar, so fans will miss them. He commented: "It's probably wise for us to disappear for a wee while, as well. Prince and 3rdEyeGirl announce UK Arena dates for 2014

Following a series of acclaimed, spontaneous and intimate UK shows earlier this year Prince will headline his first regional UK arena dates since 1995.

These exclusive arena shows with 3RDEYEGIRL in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds are his first since his sold out residency at The O2 London in 2007. 

This will be the first time Prince has ever performed in Leeds and is also the first time Prince has headlined a show in Birmingham and Glasgow in 19 years.  His Manchester show follows two nights at the Academy in February.

Kasabian announce their 5th studio album 48:13

Kasabian have announced details of their new album 48:13.

The band's fifth LP - named after its overall running time - will be released on June 9, preceded by lead single 'Eez-eh' on June 2.

Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno said of the record: "I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding."

Singer Tom Meighan added: "Less is more, you know? It's direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We've had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It's unbelievable."

Meighan previously described the new album as "as good as it gets" for the band.

Kasbian will headline this year's Glastonbury Festival on Sunday, June 29.
