Dave Hughes and The RFPB to release Doctors and Dates

Dave Hughes and The RFPB to release Doctors and Dates

Glasgow punk rock trio Dave Hughes and The RFPB release “Doctors and Dates” on Monday 24th of March through Different Circle Records. This is the follow-up to last year's full length debut “In Death Do We Part?” which went on to sell over 300 copies through DIY promotion and a heavy touring schedule.

Doctors and Dates is seven explosive new tracks detailing personal battles with depression, addiction, relationships and restoration. Pounding opener “City of Us” sets up the mind as a city on the verge of collapse, while the New Jersey sounding title track cuts right to the heart of confronting your own fears of the unknown. 'Luath St Stories' is a mini folk-punk opera acted out on the streets of Govan in Glasgow where, amid self-doubt and ultra-violence, a silver lining can be found. All wrapped up in the catchy and singalong choruses that the RFPB have became known for up and down the country.

The album will be released on digital (iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Bandcamp etc) and physical (CD Digipak) formats

The mini-album was recorded live, in the studio, over two days in January 2014 at Bones and Smithereens in Greenock, Scotland with “In Death Do We Part?” producer and engineer Gareth McNicol at the helm.

The band are booked to play concerts all around the UK throughout 2014, with a solo stint for Dave to Germany in April and East Coast America dates are to be announced for late 2014.

MusicMafia introduces Centre Excuse

Centre Excuse are a hard hitting, trio creating a fresh sound, that fuses their own contemporary 80's style synth pop with the raw energy of punk rock.
Their unique sound is created through crafting intricate layers of driving rhythms, catchy melodies and meaningful, sometimes almost poetical lyrics. Performing live is the where the bands passion truly lye’s and it was from being immensely impressed after watching a frenzied audience of around 300 people overwhelmingly chanting and dancing to Centre Excuse's stunningly insane Riverside Festival performance, that the MD of indie label New Motion Record's signed the band on a Joint Venture agreement in October 2010.

Since then they have been working with Producer Lester Woodward (Young Guns/50cent) to record their material for a demanding release schedule throughout 2011 and 2012.

The video to their debut single release 'Last 3 Days' in late February 2011 with Director Ben Taylor (Deaf Havana) received over 30,000 YouTube plays in its first month of release. With regular video releases, live performances and continuous fan engagement, Centre Excuse has enjoyed a fast growing international supporter base with already having over 15,000 on Youtube and 8,000 on Facebook.

Centre Excuse are; Teddy Lewis – Lead Vocals / Keyboards / Guitar and programming

Jamie Rush – Backing Vocals, Lead & Bass Guitar / Alex Rush - Drums

Centre Excuse are based in the sleepy rural village of Empingham in England's smallest county, Rutland.
