Jessie J announces new single, Thunder

Today, following two superb opening nights of her UK arena tour, pop’s unstoppable force, Jessie J announced “Thunder” as the next single from her newly released sophomore album, “Alive”.

“Thunder” will release on Monday 9TH December and follows Jessie’s impressive re-entry into the UK charts, with “WILD” and “Its My Party” successfully rooting her back in the UK Top 5, selling an impressive 300,000 copies of both singles in the UK alone. True to form, she whipped her millions of adoring fans into a Jessie J frenzy ahead of the release of ‘Alive’ which charted at #3 in the UK.

Jessie has proven she is still the UK’s finest female pop-sensation, re-cementing her music career that took off so spectacularly in 2011 right back on the map. The third single, “Thunder”, is an almighty pop ballad, overflowing with Jessie’s signature power-house vocal and set to become an undisputed bona-fide pop anthem for the 21st century.

Jessie wowed a global audience from the stage at London’s Round House during her critically acclaimed iTunes festival performance last month. Following two electric opening show in Belfast and Dublin, Jessie continues on her first ever sell-out UK arena tour with dates across the country over the next month.

Journey, Whitesnake and special guests 'Thunder' tour the UK in May 2013

Journey and Whitesnake, with special guests Thunder, will appear onstage together for the first time ever taking in eight dates across the UK throughout May 2013.  Tickets are available online from www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Journey, one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, are responsible for creating some of the best-known songs in modern music. Over the years they have gained multiple accolades including 19 Top 40 singles, 25 Gold and Platinum albums and the single Don’t Stop Believin' holding the #1 digital catalogue song in history. The line-up features Neal Schon (guitars, backing vocals), Jonathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Ross Valory (bass, backing vocals), Deen Castronovo (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Arnel Pineda (lead vocals).

Co-headlining the tour are the legendary Whitesnake who carry a reputation as one of the world’s leading rock ’n’ roll bands. Founded and formed by Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, the band have earned multi-platinum albums and multiple top 10 hits worldwide, including 2 number 1 singles with Here I Go Again and Is This Love, and more recently with Still Of The Night. The line-up features David Coverdale (vocals), Doug Aldrich (guitar),  Reb Beach (guitar), Michael Devin (bass), and Tommy Aldridge (drums, percussion).

Very special guests are Thunder. In 2009 the band went their separate ways, only to return in 2011 for a triumphant live performance at London’s High Voltage festival, followed by two sell-out Christmas shows. Singer Danny Bowes says: "We'd already discussed possibly doing some shows during 2013, so this is perfect, and it’s a great bill. It'll be a brilliant night out".

Following their hugely successful sell out 15 date tour in January, Danny and  Ben from Thunder will return in January 2013 for more intimate evenings of 2 man mirth, music and musings. Sticking with the same format, they'll be spreading the joy with new road stories, acoustic versions of Thunder songs and more of their favourite covers, all wrapped up in some general D and B silliness.
