Boyce Avenue announce Ingrid Michaelson and Tyler Hilton as special guests to their forthcoming tour
Boyce Avenue recently won over massive audiences on One
Direction’s sold-out UK
/ Ireland
tour and have added many fans to
their multi million fan base worldwide. Florida’s Boyce Avenue are
embarking on their sixth UK and Ireland tour in June this year, this will see the band play the legendary Isle of Wight Festival and their biggest European headline shows to date.
Ingrid Michaelson has
earned enviable name-recognition thanks to her knack for crafting beautiful,
idiosyncratic songs, many of which have wafted out of your television in handfuls of Grey’s Anatomy episodes (not to
mention countless other series since such as American Idol, Parenthood, and So You Think You Can Dance), in an affecting
Google Chrome ad, and on VH1 as an
artist You Outta Know.
Tyler Hilton has been a songwriter and musician for most of his life.
But also made his acting debut starring as the
musically talented but totally arrogant Chris Keller on the second season of One Tree Hill. Other roles followed,
including playing Elvis Presley in the critically acclaimed Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, co-starring in the indie film
Charlie Bartlett with Robert
Downey Jr., and returning to One Tree Hill for its final season in
2012. But being an artist, Hilton did what artists do and
channeled all of his frustrated emotions into a batch of songs, the bulk of
which make up his new album Forget the Storm,
which Hilton has released on his own label, Hooptie Tune Records.
Boyce Avenue,
a Florida-based band popular for its
strong acoustic roots and
melodic rock sound
consists of three brothers Alejandro,
Fabian, and Daniel Manzano. The
brothers first came together as a band
in 2004 when Alejandro (lead vocals,
guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals), and
their older brother Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals) reconnected after Daniel
graduated from Harvard Law School and
moved back to Florida where Fabian and
Alejandro were both attending
classes at the University of Florida. It was there that the brothers continued
to write music and to perform local
shows, taking their most formative steps toward becoming a band.
In 2007, in an effort to
share their music and ideas with the
world, the band decided to start
filming and posting videos on
YouTube of them performing their own songs as well as some of their favourite
songs by other popular artists. The videos began to resonate instantly with
YouTube viewers and to date the band’s YouTube channel has amassed over
600,000,000 views and
over
1,000,000 subscribers making it one of the most watched of
all time and the top ranked band on the site.
The band's debut album, ‘All
We Have Left’, is out now on their own label, ‘3 Peace
Records’. It features the single “Every
Breath” with a music video shot by acclaimed director Zach
Merck (Blue October, Safetysuit) based on an idea created by the band.
Following the release of
the album the band has spent the
last 18 months touring on an extensive worldwide basis and
playing for thousands of fans in the
United States, Canada, the UK,
mainland Europe, Asia and Australia.
The band will play extensively
throughout the US and back to Europe
in June then will start work on a new album in the fall.
Boyce Avenue
is gaining worldwide recognition, through a vast and
growing online fan base, for its pop-sensible blend of acoustic and rock music.
Having recently received
rave reviews when they visited the UK/Ireland
to play a host of sold-out shows in November 2011, including sell-out nights at
London’s O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and Dublin's Olympia
Theatre, and a performance at the
MTV European Music Awards in Belfast
and the One Direction tour in
January. With plays and support from
BBC Radio 1, The Sun newspaper and Q
Mag exclusively premiering their ‘Broken Angel’ video 2012 is sure
to be a big year for Boyce Avenue.
