New release date for Sandi Thom's Flesh And Blood album

Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Sandi Thom, best known for her 2006 No.1 hit single I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair), has moved the release date of her upcoming album, Flesh And Blood, from Monday August 27th to the new date of Monday 17th September.

The fourth studio album for Sandi, Flesh And Blood was recorded at 16 Tons Studios in Nashville, and produced by guitarist Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes. The album features a duet with the legendary Buffy Sainte-Marie on the latter’s classic The Big Ones Get Away.
“Sandi really stretched herself and made a bold new album,” says Rich Robinson, “Her songs are honest, vulnerable and strong.  Her vocal abilities are showcased really well, as is her guitar work, and harp playing. She’s made a great record. It was a joy to work with her.”

Flesh And Blood is the first album to be released on Sandi’s new independent label Guardian Angels Records.  The album includes the blues rock bravado of the opening track Help Me, followed by the country-flavoured Leadbelly classic In The Pines. Also featured is the clavinet-led Stormy Weather; and the emotionally moving finale Lay Your Burden Down.
Sandi will perform at the London Acoustic Guitar Show in association with Acoustic magazine, at London Olympia onSunday 23rd September.  Sandi will then embark on a UK tour, starting 1st November at London’s Islington o2 Academy.  Full tour details, plus a free mp3 track from the new album can be found at www.sandithom.com.
