The Procession Announce New Album ‘You Are Now Leaving The Future’ 08.10.12

The Procession are a 4-piece alternative indie-rock band based in the Midlands and made up of James Best - Vocals and Guitar / Martin Byrne -Vocals, Guitar & Keys / Paul Richardson - Bass Guitar / Rob Gill - Drums.

The band formed in 2007 while all band members were at university and immediately started to make waves in the local live music scene.

They have been widely praised for their otherworldly sound and volatile live performances accumulated through playing local festivals, supporting established acts, appearing on local and national radio and also appearing in numerous UK magazines.

The Procession seized their break after becoming the inaugural winners of www.BandForTheDay.com 's international unsigned band competition. They saw off over 2000 entries to win and it became clear that The Procession were a band to watch.

Their debut four-track EP, ‘Sometimes’ was released on Circular Records in 2011, to critical acclaim and their new album, ‘You Are Now Leaving The Future’ is released October 2012.
The album was recorded in Kasabian's secret studio complex in Leicestershire where the band spent a large part of the past year.

From the album, the single “Cease and Desist” will be officially released and a full UK tour will also accompany the album release.

Early previews of the album have been well received, already winning the acclaim of Absolute Radio/XFM/4Music journalist and DJ, Pete Donaldson and MTV's Phil Clifton.
The musical blend, enticing melodies and catchy tunes are delivered with a passion and geniality that really takes the listener on a journey with them. According to Pete Donaldson, "It' s a ride through soaring choruses, meaty guitar riffs, via bare soul intimacy, and pretty refrains, all packed with more hooks than you'll find in Mariah Carey's wardrobe”!

Working with top rock producer, Jon Fowkes has pushed The Procession - they have worked tirelessly to raise the bar far beyond their earlier demo material.

‘You Are Now Leaving The Future’ seamlessly blends grassroots guitar rock with swirling synthesizers, ethnic percussion and ethereal vocal harmonies. The band has matured from their 2011 debut EP, which is reflected in the upcoming second single “Call You”, where the haunting interplay with guest vocalist Emma Redhead shows an exciting new direction for the band.
Never shy of experimenting with new and unusual concepts musically and for live shows, The Procession are sure to spread their unique energy to all corners of the UK over the next twelve months.
