MusicMafia presents Glasgow singer/songwriter Paul McLinden

Glasgow singer/songwriter Paul McLinden will release his eponymously titled third solo record on August 15th 2013. The record will be released through Paul's own Oneinchpunch label.

This release comes on the back of a very successful year for Paul which has seen his music showcased on TV shows CSI New York and One Tree Hill as well as being used to soundtrack the Warner Brothers featurette for Gangster Squad. Paul's songs have also received radio play in the last couple of years from: Frank Skinner, Lauren Laverne, Don Letts, Mary Ann Hobbs and Iain Anderson. His 2008 debut release was described as Scottish debut of the year by respected BBC broadcaster Tom Morton.

Outwith his own solo work, Paul has enjoyed musical collaborations recently with Louis Abbott of Admiral Fallow and also with maverick electronica producer Mothmatix. The music culled from the collaboration with Mothmatix has already been used on CSI and Nikita as well as other high profile shows. Their first single 'Go Stop Go' was number 1 in the iTunes download chart a week after its release. Paul and Mothmatix have now been invited to play a series of showcase gigs in New York over the summer of 2013.

For this latest record, Paul renewed acquaintances with producer Dave McCauley at Glasgow's illustrious Chem 19 studio. The results are a five-track mini-album that is genre defying, covering ground from Krautrock to Folk Rock. The centre piece of the record is wistful piano ballad Footnotes and the curtain drops with the David Crosby inspired Wooden Horses which tells the tale of statues coming to life in Glasgow's George Square.

The record will be released digitally on August 15th 2013 although a small limited edition CD pressing will also be available.
