Having met on the first day of college in the fall of 2007, guitarist/vocalist Andrew Oedel, drummer Matt Addison, and bassist Max Currier bonded over their common love of good music and bad beer. Acoustic jam sessions and impromptu sing-alongs soon became collaborative songwriting sit-downs and electrified noisefests. When second guitarist Jon Markson joined the band in 2010, Shake the Baron refined their sound palette and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now signed by New York’s Super Duper Records and having worked with some of New York’s finest talents including Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, Weezer), Shake The Baron are ready to bring their unique sound to the UK, delivering their signature rhythmic acrobatic tricks, addictive vocals and their infectious feel-good energy to a new audience.

Their debut offering, Ghost Hits, taken from the album of the same name, provides a sound that is both fresh and familiar. The guitar motif is endlessly addictive whilst the rhythmic pattern keeps listeners on their toes. Along with a boundary challenging video, Ghost Hits promises to be an unforgettable introduction to the UK market.

Listing The Strokes and Sonic Youth amongst their influences, Shake The Baron have been performing extensively throughout their home state and received high acclaim following their three showcase performances at well renowned US festival SXSW.

Ghost Hits will be released on 5th of August and will be followed by the album of the same name later in the year.

Ghost Hits doesn’t find Shake the Baron succumbing to a sophomore slump, instead strengthening the elements that made their self-titled debut so winsome … Shake the Baron is a band with a tight grasp on dynamic songwriting and Ghost Hits proves it. Don’t be surprised if you start hearing their name more sometime soon.” – Pop Matters
