Line Up Announced for Liverpool Music Awards 2013
Sunday 25th August
St George's Hall, Liverpool L1 1JJ
Red carpet: 6.30pm

The second ever Liverpool Music Awards ceremony, sponsored by Liverpool City Council takes place on Sunday 25 August at St George’s Hall, as part of the new Liverpool International Music Festival.  The red carpet event honours the heroes of the Liverpool music scene, from the musicians to those behind the scenes.

Hosted by Liverpool born DJ Janice Long, it promises to be a star studded event, with presenters including chart-topping stars Heidi Range from the Sugababes and Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon, Miss Stylie with guests including Miles Kane, The Farm and cast members of Hollyoaks.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s Paul Rutherford will be travelling from New Zealand to present an award alongside Gary Christian and China Crisis.

Presenters on the night include BBC Radio Merseyside’s Billy Butler, Dave Monks and Roger Hill, Radio City breakfast show host Rossie and DJ Lee Butler.  Radio 1Xtra’s Robbo Ranx, Brit and Grammy Award winning producer Steve Levine, Sound City founder Dave Pichilingi and Granada Reports Victoria Grimes. Margi Clarke and Pauline Daniels will be present alongside Steve Rotherham MP and Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson.

It will see performances and collaborations from a wide range of Merseyside musicians, including Paul Duffy from The Coral, Bill Ryder-Jones, Bird, Dominic Dunn, Natalie McCool, The Valentine Brothers, Milly Pye, Anna Corcoran, Rob Vincent, Miles Christian, KOF, GhostChant, Broken Men, Sundowners, Treetop and the Sense of Sound Choir.

"I am so excited about the line-up for the ceremony” adds Ellie “All of the artists are incredible live, and all of the performances are collaborations so it's going to be an incredibly special evening and completely unique. I had such difficulty deciding on the line-up because the amount of talent in our city is insane - I have no idea how the judges shortlisted the entries for the awards themselves. Voting closes Friday at midnight so there's still time to visit the website and cast your votes for those that were shortlisted."

The judges for the awards are Yaw Owusu, Spike Beecham, Roger Hill, Steve Levine, Billy Butler, Lee Butler, Jennifer John, Janice Long, Jade Wright, Dave Monks, Mark Featherstone-Witty and Michael Jones.
