Phantom Runners to release debut single It Takes Me Away

This Brighton four piece who have literally only been together a short while all harbouring the same dream, to create a music that really means something to people through their lyrics.  With just a couple of gigs to their name, Phantom Runners are already making waves across the UK with appearances on BBC Introducing and various shows on Radio 1. Phantom Runners make well written, catchy pop tunes which will leave you humming their tracks for days after.  Their love-lorn, nostalgic sound….is lo-fi/dream pop at its best.

Reminiscent of The Smiths, The LAs, The Stone Roses and all that other good stuff, first single ‘It Takes Me Away’ honestly does just that. Perfect guitar hooks, bassline melodies and in front man Adam Al-Hilali a genuine indie star on his proverbial way.

Whilst all living together in a flat in Brighton, which they have used for impromptu gigs over the past year, with fans cramming themselves into the living room. Following on from this style of show and shunning usual methods and embarking on a handful of ‘guerrilla gigs’ across a number of festivals which include Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Playgroup, Latitude and Festival 06.

With a debut EP and tour planned for early 2014 Phantom Runners should definitely be appearing on your radar now. Check out their VHS tinged video for ‘It Takes Me Away’ and prepare to like and share with anyone you want to pass on those summer love vibes to.

‘It Takes Me Away’ is released through Stray Cat Records on September 23rd 2013.

Phantom Runners live in London at following:
4th September @ the Old Blue Last
19th September @ Tipsy (single launch party)
5th October @ The Nest
